Hey everybody! Captain Coby is coming at you today with a video that I have been wanting to do for a long time. Manglier Tea, it's not the best tasting thing in the world, but it can help with a cold, flu, breaking fever, and many other ailments. Thanks! A friend gave me some of this tea when I couldn't get rid of a chest cold 2 years ago. In 3 days the cold was gone! Fast-forward to now, I have a manglier tree growing in my backyard here in Lafayette. The video is invaluable. Much appreciated!!

Thanks for this video. My godmother came to my house today and showed me that a tree growing wild in my backyard is a manglier tree. She told me about manglier tea before but at the time we didn't go in my backyard so we didn't know I had a tree. I got a few branches today and I'm going to make myself a tea tonight. My brother has been having a mysterious cough so I think I'll make him some tea too.

My mom is from Louisiana and we found the trees here in Texas growing everywhere! I brew a gumbo pot every week to drink daily.

This is a lost recipe. Glad you brought this back. Old Ma Mom drank that. Antoine down the road refused to pay $7 for cough medicine from his doctor. He said he made monglea at the house.

Yes Trinity you are right that’s why I was so passionate about making the video! Not sure why we get away from the old medicine especially when they work!!!

I remember drinking some kind of tea when I was very young in Louisiana. That stuff was so nasty………but it worked. My grandmother made it for me. Just by the smell and taste you know you knew something was going to die. I was blessed that it wasn’t me.

You did it again. Wow. Thank you. One question what is the true name of the herb. She said you can find it by the road side. So for me the spring and summer. Not now for me i have a foot of snow on the ground. Haha. Let me know. Your friend from NE ohio. And cajun to the blood😁

Hi! The actual names are groundsel bush and sea myrtle. The scientific name is Baccharis Halimifolia

Thank y'all both for the walk through! A local Lafayette friend gifted me 2 bunches of manglier to make into tea to kick this bronchitis ASAP. Brand new to manglier as I'm a Northerner, but hopeful as I love plant medicine! 💚

I'm native and my invite used to talk about this tea among many others, I'm trying to find a plant to grow in Florida on my property to bring this list art of herbal medicine using all locally sourced honey, fruits etc to pair with it but can't find the plant anywhere to buy, can I grow it from a clipping?

Where can one buy some of these teas in local stores in LA?? Also where to buy Captain Coby's Seasoning too I am headed to LA soon and want to try some tea as I dont want make any right now. Heard it has great medicinal properties.

The tea and Captain Coby’s can both be purchased online! But we both sell at the same stores in Lafayette, LA. Like Kevin Guidry Produce, Fresh Pickins and Poches! Let me know a couple days in advance before you come down and I’ll can have both of the for you when you get here!
