I've loved Cake for 25+ years. I've seen them several times, even met them once, and I still can't tell if John is actually mad when people don't sing along or if the cranky old man is an act.

Cake does the best War Pigs cover....would rather hear them do it than Black Sabbath........

Awesome musicians. IMO a bit too much audience interaction/sing a longs. But whatever. Again they're masters of their instruments, and voices. There will be some a holes in every crowd. At least he didn't walk off stage like Axle Rose.

I liked Cake from the first time I heard them back in the 90'S. I suspect they work much better in the studio than live. The pitch issues aside , They were not playing in any kind of time together. That Junk acoustic guitar just didn't work in the mix. These guys are very good musicians individually obviously but there is something very wrong here.

Sounds like a bad cake cover band.....stale cake.

I have to say that for me a concert is preferred being "a happy freedom experience" to let go of strictness and gett a good feel with others, not "a walk on a thin line" to pleas the singers views on everything. Ordinary people need freedom to. Not only singers. We actually need some place to let go of all the shit in this world. We need live music. (I know I am a musician my self and hasn't 1% of Cakes cred in this world. Even if I played in band filling 1200 people at gigs and travle as a singer songwriter around Scandinavia 10 yrs. You can find my music to.) But I love this band. I really do. They done work I never be able to and earned a big crowd. I just feel talking about how individuals use their cellphones from stage at a consert has notting to do with music and gigs. Why did we have to listen that? If it disturbs a singer and a composer write a song about it. When all that is said I don't know how the heck John or the other guys should live their life or behave. I just really belive you focus on right stuff at the wrong moment. AI is going to change us, yeah maybe eventually kill us ...but it is like the ass.... splitt... both in god ways and bad. Evolution.
