They don't get consistent pitching or hitting,especially together, for more than three consecutive games. Doesn't matter who they're playing, they just have no consistency whatsoever, didn't last year either.

Hate to admit it but I think it’s true the Dodgers are the World Series for us. We play good against them take competitive at bats and then forget how to play against everyone else. Machado and Tatis need to step it up 40+ games into the season and Both are struggling.

Dylan cease didn't have his best night on the mound nor did he have his worst. He did pitch well enough for most teams that have ANY kind of offense to get a win. Especially when the team across the field is the Colorado Rockies. Most times in sports you might call this a trap game but good teams don't get caught in a trap and it appears the Padres routinely get trapped. I'm sure Dylan came out because of the pitch count, and the way things are now you really don't want to see the bullpen being used unless there's no choice. Colorado right fielder had a stellar game. He made all his plays right in front of me, on defense he had a great night. I have no idea what he did at the plate.

His slider wasn't as sharp as usual and he kept going with it. They kept fouling it off but a good hitting team would see the slider a second time and sit on it a bit and pow!

I wonder about Manny’s injury he had this year. Baseball is all about mental so he I’m guessing it’s all in his head or if he’s just getting uncomfortable at plate at the moment rn. This is a guy who finished 2rd in MVP in 2022. Times go by fast

I think pitchers have figured him out and know what he likes to swing at. I notice they have a good approach against him and it seems to be working. Manny needs to adjust a little more but not too much that it gets his mind off of simple mechanics.

Apart from the last series with the Dodgers, home field form on the whole this season has been abysmal. I still think the fundamentals and the overall roster are good enough to get into the post-season, barring something dreadful.

Just like last season, this year's team is losing games to teams they should beat routinely. How long will Manny take up space in the number four hole? The stubbornness in this new manager for the Padres of refusing to move a non-productive player in the lineup is already old with me. First he does it with X and continues it with Manny. Showing your trust in a player is one thing, but when it starts costing games "PLURAL"just even the fifth spot might not be a bad idea. I think this guy is just proving to be too stubborn to make those kinds of decisions.

@@juanorozco4553 I like X but let's face it he was dragging the lead off spot down until the trade and should have been moved from that spot but again, stubbornness in the manager kept him there flailing away. x Will come back and he's showing signs of it now but the delay in moving him was ridiculous. The new manager has his good points of course but his stubbornness in backing some of his players so long is just old with me. Show faith in them yes, but not at the cost of the team when it's a prolonged problem.

@@TalkingFriarsYou’re full of excuses. Mookie hasn’t had a homerun in a month until he hit one yesterday against the Giants. He hadn’t had an extra base hit in 2 weeks until the 12th. Freddie’s been in a slump for a while, as have Will Smith and others. You’re just making excuses for your team as usual. 7 game streak has been due to pitching.

Pitchers have figured out Manny and X is playing a mental game. We're giving these guys a tough time and expect them to play better when we should encourage them more so they don't need to worry so much at the plate. No one likes going 0fer and it doesn't help when you have an entire fanbase telling you they didn't want you. Give Bogey a standing ovation for crying out loud and make him feel welcome. Encourage Manny to be the leader he once was and let him figure out his approach at the plate. Stop the negativity, it's getting annoying. Stay classy my dudes

These divas and egos need to be booed mercilessly until they get the message. Mr Magoo treating them with kid gloves isn’t working. They are not little leaguers who require participation trophies 🏆. They need to wake up and smell the coffee. It’s getting old and they are losing all the good will they have accrued. This season was suppose to be for Peter. What a sad and tragic team.

We need to take care of business against teams with losing records. The Padres are 11-14 against teams with losing records. We need a win on Wednesday to build momentum going into Atlanta. If we're not careful we could fall 10 back of LA and be sitting at 4th or 5th in the wild card race. The big contracts need to start playing up to their paychecks. So, at what point do we start trading off our players and go full rebuild? 10 games back of LA at the end of June and 5th in the wild card race? Other opinions?
