Raw Unfiltered Calamity: • Terraria Calamity Mod ... Left Alone: • Terraria Calamity Mod ... The terraria calamity mod lore Part something: Yharim #xeroc #namelessdeity #terraria #calamity #lore #Draedon #yharim #yharon
So basically Yharim notices that us the Terrarian, the mortal starts to beat shit up in the world in a surprisingly effective manner and is like "Hmm this might finally be the one that can best me, and its a mortal none the less, better give them a small guiding hand." Meanwhile everyone else "WHO THE HELL IS THIS MORTAL!?"
I really love the new lore yharim. New lore yharim actually has a reason why he does evil acts. While on the old lore he did evil things cuz he just felt like it. and the line "Destiny is for the weak" is soooo frickin coool. it also makes me wonder how the world would look like if he had become a god. Things would be REALLY different since he was raised to become a King for all of the Gods. I wonder if he'd be a good king that would protect the weak or be an evil one that forces millions to bow down to him, but i guess we'll never know lol.
I feel like he would’ve been a decent king considering his morals and ideals, but that probably wouldn’t have lasted. Kind of makes you wonder why the gods wanted a king in the first place.
Yharim does seem like a tragic hero. He wasn't comletely aware the destruction he (sometimes inadvertently) caused on the world, and after the Devouerer's influence, you could feel sort of Macbeth elements coming from him so he became tarnished with title 'Tyrant'. However, the player could be his last shot at some slimmer of redemption, even though he will probably never be looked at the same again, he can always remind himself of the player as he parts. He does not want to die a Tyrant, I don't believe.
I have to disagree. Looking through how he words things, he really does not regret anything that he caused... except the things that caused his allies to leave. He regrets not dealing with Polterghast because the Dragon Cult left him. He regrets Permafrost and Calamitas leaving his side. He doesn't really regret Draedon's departute however he is VERY happy to dump a lot of the blame on him, suspiciously not mentioning how much awful stuff he did himself. Yharim isn't really a fallen hero. His goal was insane from the beginning - he wanted to murder hundreds of gods and their worshippers because of something that was done thousands of years ago. Many of them being benevolent or important to the balance of the world (Silva, Slime God, Otonilou). Yharim is an excellent manipulator though, as proven by how convincing his act of a fallen hero is.
@@Garbo_trashcan I should have clarified what I said further as yes, Yharim is completely aware of his actions, and he does not pretend to admit or wholly care about some of the things he did which does not include the causes for his allies to leave him, but that's what I like, there is no 'I care for this - I do not care about that' type of ideal. Moreso a gradient, like he does feel regret at some portions, but is comfortable thinking 'it was what it was', so perhaps he isn't entirely tragic, maybe he lost his motive to carry out his goals once he saw his vision falling apart, but wanted to hold some shred of decency and truth. A facade of ambition and truth (of good and bad in his eyes) mixed with his deceit and incrimination, so it's practically not a facade anymore. His way of thinking could hide in plain sight if he wanted it to. Minus the mass deicide, which would be exclusive to him. I'm not really sure on how I feel about Yharim's character, he's not like most 'godslayers'. A lot longer than I wanted it to be but hey, it's calamity.
moonlord was a dark god who came to earth to do a little trolling alongside cthulhu but got slapped by the primorial light, got a 50% discount on his body and got sealed in the moon, and what was his true name? STEVE his name was STEVE
Confirmed a day ago on lore discussion in discord, Calamitas was the last to join Yharim's army, not DOG. just letting you know. my messages don't want to send, i have had to repeat this multiple times.
Honestly, I think the fact that Yharim considers him recruiting the Devourer as the start of his downfall and not him destroying an entire kingdom of innocent people, wiping almost an entire sea off of the planet in the process, just to test Calamitas' power is proof that Yharim was always just a petty mass murderer with delusions of heroism.
@@Midnight_Minute It makes me sad that the Terrarian is just a voiceless blank slate character, because I would've LOVED to see them completely tear Yharim apart and expose him for who he really is.
My favorite character got a lore video! I was waiting for this. I think Yharim is a really well written character, and his goal is my favorite part of him. Also, he is right, bees are cool
Fun fact: the new draedon dialogue implies yharon is needed at the aerie to revive dragons, as the dragon of rebirth. Pesonally, i take this as the auric souls are immortal but yharon needs to rebirth their bodies. This would also explain qhy, after so many years of silva/world evil god/ect being dead, they all remain as biomes, not physical beings
Yharim seems like the type of guy to commit war crimes because he thinks it helps the world. To an extent he was right, but the crusades ended up causing more harm than good. While I kinda feel bad for yharim cause now hes just a dude that lost everything and is now scarred and alone. At the same time though, one has to wonder... Was yharim just as bad if not worse than the gods he killed?
It’s kind of case dependent, not all of the gods were necessarily bad, but some definitely were. Yharim just tried to kill all of them (and did get most of them too). As to whether he was worse than those gods, it’s difficult to tell
@@Midnight_MinuteThe army doesn't have much, iirc you said a little about them in past videos with the Mechs, but their crimes, specifically Yharim's crimes would be interesting to talk about
I’m very curious, where do I go to read this lore because there’s so much about the calamity mod that I want to know about lore wise and often have a hard time finding helpful videos like this.
if yharim wants us to be like his past self, a hero to stop the gods, why doesn't he stop us from killing yharon? it doesn't seem like he ever tries to stop us
Wait so the souls u get after each boss if Yharim talking to the player? or is it the messages in chat after major bosses are dead like wall, all mech bosses plantera etc?
Due to his fully attuned auric armor (the kind we use we basically forced to work for us, so it’s not as strong) he is more powerful than even Calamitas or the Exo Mechs
pretty strong, he basically stole the title of being the strongest mortal to have ever lived from the monk. Developers seem to agree that he may even be as strong or slightly stronger than Zeratros (King of dragons). A dev (cei i think) said that he could punch a skyscraper and it would collapse. A lot of factors made him so powerful, with the main one is attuneemnt to a dragon. Also the 100+ years of fighting in a war against gods probably helped llol. as midnight minute said, he is fully able to utilize auric armor to its fullest potential, which probably means its much more durable than ours.
It’s kind of difficult because a lot of the player related information is dependent on choices that the player makes, like you could choose to skip slime God or something and suddenly you miss out on the case for hunting down gods, you could skip moon, lord and DoG technically, which really derails things. Ultimately, I don’t know if I realistically can make a video On them because of how little about them we know to be canon
@@Meowlegend7 so they can be about pretty much anything? I.e the most fearsome foe with never before seen capabilities, or just some random guy who keeps building cities in the worse place possible?
@@NatetheNintendofan if i were to make a addon for calamity i would do that(i thought the same thing but after yharim since they are attuned) but you cant really consume yharon's auric soul due it being shattered by the player to make the auric armor and even if you could consume it you must kill yhrarim too to fully consume but also the hunt of the old gods addon makes it so that yharon drops his auric soul but it isnt that powerful
Wait i thought the player character was just a guy who killed everyone for fun?? I mean the new lore is way better, but wow the clam lore changes often
hate the fact that this is the only lore video going over yharim and its in google slides, not to talk shit to you but you are the only one who in length, explain yharims lore
