i can't believe that they went of creating the entire Revit program without taking into consideration the calculation of the number of bricks in the wall. this should be in the integrated in the wall type, just put how many bricks the wall takes in a square meter

It's an inspiring video. It makes me think it's possible to not only know the number of bricks to be used as you are designing your building. But to know also the amount of cement and sand needed. As well as the amount of brick force and damp course needed. As well as the costs. Such that you can design to meet the budget requirements. Awesome, could we have tutorial. Please sir.

brick sizes change based on selection. Isnt it easier to get the area of the wall face and get the bricks per sqft of wall face from the manufacturer? You also have to account for waste when ordering.
@MRTIJUANAPS3
@MRTIJUANAPS3 4 года назад
why do you do it by volume instead of area ? For example just take the side of the brick (25x6.5) and divide it by the area (m2) of the wall.

just divide volume of wall by the volume of one brick to get the number of total bricks in a wall.Now you can calculate total cost of bricks.

Dividing by 1^x is a nice trick that helps a lot with invalid units error and it is good to know that. But why not to use brick volume parameter as volume parameter (despite number parameter) and do not bother about that trick? :D Anyway, good tutorial :)

Thanks for the video. Can you please advise why you used the volume rather than the surface area?
@ketanvaghela7001
@ketanvaghela7001 2 года назад
calculation based on surface area is helpful for counting number of bricks for single brick walls only, whereas calculations based on volume provides more answers, i. e. number of bricks, quantity of mortar/ sand/ cement / other materials, etc. 😊

Whats the reason you use volume? Most manufacturers (at least where i live) give a amount/m2, so you can just schedule the m2 and then multiply with that amount.

How do you calculate the number of timber studs in Revit?
@peaky43
@peaky43 3 года назад
How do you calculate brick cost over different wall types with the same material? Even with an instance parameter it will tag all the materials in that wall instance with the same parameter so you cant calculate different materials after that? You cant give materials extra parameters?

I have linked architecture and structure model. In architecture model I've been modeling for the walls, floor and ceiling. In structure model I have columns and beam. When i checked for interference. It has reported clash between walls and Structural columns. The same issues for ceiling and floor. How to fix it? I mean, how to make walls trim by the structural coloumns.

Thank you very much for the tutorial brother. Just a follow up question, how do I add totals to the schedule?
@NAmbrosetti
@NAmbrosetti 3 года назад
Thought I'd answer this as it's been a while...😉 Within your Revit schedule use the properties panel to open the 'schedule properties' and under 'sorting/Grouping' you can then tick the 'Grand totals' box to add various totals to suit your schedule.

Hello. It is possible to calculate timber volume (m3) for timber framing house in revit? If yes than where can i find. Thanks
@balkanarchitect
@balkanarchitect 4 года назад
Hi, it is possible, even better, you can calculate the length of each profile of timber construction needed. I don't have a tutorial on that, but my course on steel buildings in revit covers something like that, you can find it on my website (first link in the description of the video) 🙂

@@Praveenkumar-jb3wd for such a goal I would create "curb/edge" by a model in place. Then u may set terrain as you want and do so with the water. I think it's the best option. At least it worked pretty well for my master thesis ;)

I think you made a mistake when writing the formula... You wrote waste as 1.1 which is 110% waste, 10% waste should be 0.1..... or Any suggestions??
@tayyabrehman2470
@tayyabrehman2470 Год назад
Hy K designs, 10% waste is additional quantity. if he * 0.1 the answer will be waste only and we are calculating total bricks here. hope you got the point.
