I may be the only American that uses lead flashing. I hope someone here in the USA is listening. Great work. By the way, zinc is also available in sheets without the toxic element.

Richard,Its good to hear that you are using lead, I hope it is Calder Lead!Lead is only toxic if you ingest it. Used properly it is a safe and environmentally friendly product, not least as it is 100% recycled and recyclable. Calder Lead can offer guidance on this, please contact me if you wish to discuss.RegardsMartin ArmourCommercial Director

@@CalderLead Thanks for the response. I am not sure that it is Calder lead, seems most lead on the market does not have a brand name attached to it. But it is a wonderful material in that it is so easily formed and nonreactive with other metals and the elements. Combined with copper, it is essential for any builder that expects 100 years from a roof or a house, not the average 20 or 30 like most American builders of McMansions. The toxicity may be overrated, but it can also be absorbed through the skin like so many other detrimental chemicals or metals. Just wear gloves if spending a day with lead.

Richard, great that you like our product. To confirm, Lead Cannot be absorbed through the skin, only by digestion on inhalation. definitely not through the skin. When following simple safety guidelines lead is perfectly safe to work with.Regards @calderlead

Anyone notice the whole course of top plain tiles are missing ! 😂😂😂 hence wider lead needed ....... ....

That pitch it massively too low for plain tile, its almost flat. I wouldn't be surprised if them tiles leak

Minimum pitch for plain tiles is 40 degrees as I remember.

Strange example to give. This roof has no top eave course. Never seen the spirit level method, which is completely unnecessary if you know your laps. Standard 150mm cover with an eave course.
