I have one of these, one of the best purchases I've ever made. It helps me get my stuff soooo dialed in perfectly. Then when shooting freehand, if I make a bad shot, I know it's me, not the rifle.
Right on WTW! I am glad you got a nice upgrade for yourself. Now you have to reshoot all the rifles you’ve shot over the years so you can see how much this DFT will shrink the groups! 🤣👍🏻
I would like to get one of these for my normal deer rifles. I have the old cast iron BR Rock and Bumble Bee back rest for my target gun. Dont forget to put the thrust washer back under the wheel.
Caldwell makes good stuff, from my experience. A Caldwell brass catcher for that semi-auto bing-bang makes it easier to corral the empties at the range. Unless you can find a brass magnet on a long handle, which nobody makes!
WTW, best part of the video is your enthusism. I'm like a kid at Xmas when I get new "toys". It's a good part of life. Enjoy the sled. I've had one for several years and I weigh mine down with 20lbs of shot in bags designed for the purpose. Works great. But it's a lot to load in and out of range. So I plan to be there for awhile when using it. Have fun. Looking forward to some more, 'really fun videos'.
This is a much more heavy duty and adjustable model, but the Caldwell Stinger is great for sighting in AR rifles with standard capacity (30 rounds) magazines.
Yeah this is nice!!!! Love the stinger, but realized that didn’t have the shoulder pad to help when shooting those bigger calibers! I ordered the stinger and really love to use that with the AR, but anything more than a .308 can get punishing on the shoulder! Another great video. Caldwell come out with some high quality products!!!
I have been debating getting a lead sled for a while. Would make my accuracy testing tighter, but I usually like testing myself and my gun for practical accuracy as I would be in a real situation. Though I do want a lead sled at some point… be cool to see how accurate I can get my guns
Very nice WTW 😊. There's one rest I've seen that has some sort of quick adjust joystick arm on it . May be a Caldwell fcx. Let's you adjust windage and elevation real easy. Check it out. What's the front rest made out of? Is it hard or soft . If hard I would lay some sort of non marring cloth over it for wooden stock rifles, especially glossy ones like your vanguards you have. I would also put a little bearing grease on the bearings just to slow down wear. 👍 Thanks for the video. Have a great weekend 😊
That is not that old l o l. I still have the one that has a little tiny bag in the front. And on the back end squeezes against the butt stock.. Not the most efficient thing l o l. But I would have to say you are one of my favorites Eric cortina And peat From South Africa. I am ranked number 4 here in the United States. In the state of maine. But I pulled 2 shots lost by 4 points. But you know how that competition stuff goes, my brother.. Super big fan of your stuff.
You should autograph the bottom of your old one and do a raffle lot of history with it I've seen lots of guns be shot on it and I've learned a ton from watching you shoot off it ,just a idea thanks for posting
Dang WTW now imma have to go spend some money on a new one….. one i have i’ve had for like 15yr and love it but with the dual bars i can use it even more lol
You know I'm here to critique you as usual. At the end of the video your ball bearing ring was not installed 😮 Wouldn't the adjustment ring be smoother if you installed it? Or did I miss something?
what type of rest would you guys suggest to use for taking back and forth to a public range with wooden tables of you want to be able to sight in your rifles as precisely as possible
@@redtobertshateshandles i dont know anybody with one, but i was considering maybe going with a front rest and rear bag. i know they make one that is like the front of the one in the video pretty much
Well I guess I shoot more I’ve got one of the original lead sleds I’ve wore out the rubber feet on mine the bags made out of leather to hold the rifle started leaking the material out of it used duct tape to stop that whew long way to go 😅 started shootin way before interweb was invented
It looks like the nuts are the “nylock” type that have the nylon locking inserts already in them, so you don’t need to use a lock washer, if that’s what you mean.
One question the way it's setup how do you raise the clips and turn them to adjust the length for shorter guns because it looks like the wheel that adjust the highth is in the way
