He reminds me so much of Bobby Orr. His humbleness and humility speak volumes. Being his defense partner must be an absolute charm. You have the most talented player in the world and also the humblest.
Our generation’s Bobby Orr and on a much more likable team haha I’m not even an Av’s fan but I rooted for these dudes the whole way. A great group of guys/absolute wagon and Makar is the engine
CONGRATS to the Avs ! As a Leafs fan, I couldn’t be happier for Naz. He is what EVERY team needs, a gritty competitive, brave EXCELLENT HOCKEY PLAYER. I’m happy to see the Avs beat Tampa with a terrific system and the BEST D-MAN in the league. Have a great summer, guys !
I hope this means Lekhy gets re-signed if him and Rantanen are good friends already. I'm not even an avs fan but I like seeing him succeed. One of my favourites as a hab.
Lehky is an RFA, so the Avs have his signing rights. The whole reason Sakic was willing to give up what he did to get him is because he is going to be more than a rental. He will be an Av for a while!
@@xarkkal7662 people kinda forgot he was an rfa until a couple of days afterwards. On the spot, we all thaught it was a steep price to pay, but when you see hes an rfa its more then a good trade for both parties
"which is Arturri Lehkonen-ever heard of em" im making a shirt with this on it. the man was chugging beer out of his shoe and still wearing it after. hes a legend.
So nice to see Kads hoist that cup, he deserves it. Being a leaf fan as well, It was awesome to see how big an impact naz has in the game. Buddies all heart, miss him in Toronto. …
Blues fan here, doffing my cap to the Avs. It was a helluva SCP this year, but to see Makar show off a generational talent in himself, then get Playoffs MVP and become a Stanley Cup Champion... You guys have something special in this kid. If he asks for a raises, Sakic should only ask "how much ya want, kid?" Congrats again to the entire Avs organization(except Kroenke, fuck that guy) See y'all in October!!!!🏒🏒🏒
Did anyone just realize that Cale Makar is a natural on the mic? This guy can be an actor! He's got the natural talent and comedic effect too. A great voice, intonation, speech pattern, and the nuances. He could be a politician, a motivational speaker, a DJ, a future GM in the NHL, an actor, comedian....there truly is nothing this guy can't do!
@@naydra199 I doubt most people understand what it means to be an MVP Stanley Cup player either. Makar has that down. The fuck kind of comment is that? I doubt neither of us understand how hard it is to be a pro athlete or actor.
Congrats Colorado, from a Canucks fan. What a beauty of a team, I was definitely cheering for them against Tampa. Grew up watching Sakic and Forsberg so Colorado would probably be my second favourite team if I had one.
@@ohbaby4life Who whines when a stick wasn't available. That decided the series, watching Kucherov toss his gloves and give up. That decided the series for the Avs.
For the first time ever because I was hard at working writing a long epic track for the Avs I got down on my knees and prayed for them to win the Stanley Cup. Our prayers were answered. It's not just hockey skill that makes them the greatest team it's the amount of love they have for us fans, for each other, and for their families and friends. Breathtaking watching this.
as a leafs fan, all i want is for the avs to play the leafs in a stanley cup playoff round and make it to game 7. and then kadri scores the winning goal.
They were so sloshed that: A guy with a broken sternum did a cartwheel on stage That same guy got off the fire truck during the parade and was bringing random fans to get on the fire truck with him Another player got off the fire truck, forgot his ID, and the cops thought he was just a drunk frat boy trying to get in the parade until fans told the cop that he was a player... Moose was thrown 5-6 beers and missed them all while the truck was stopped. Bo wore more beer than he drank....AND HE DRANK A LOT.
I am a Leafs fan… still very glad to see the Avs win especially with Kadri on that team. I a hockey fan since 2001, when I saw Sakic give the cup to Bourque (still cut onions whenever I watch that old video.)
Just remember when those young kids contracts come up, they will chase the $$$$$$$$$$$$$. So they very easily could be gone. It will be all about Cap space. Joe is smart, he won't be like Edmonton and use a huge amount of money on just a few players. That's why they have had such a good team over the last several years.
@@trvman1 our core will be here for a long time Just keep these guys in tact and surround them like Joe has been doing with unselfish players who want to prove the teams that let them go wrong
Unfortunately we have 10 unrestricted free agents, 2 restricted free agents this year alone. And next year 2 more RFA and 3 more UFA to deal with. This year Aube-Kubel, Lehkonen are RFA, Burakovsky, Cogliano, Helm, Kadri, Nichushkin, Sturm, J. Johnson, Manson and Murray are all UFA. Next year MacKinnon, Compher and EJ are UFA and Newhook and Byram are RFA.
Let's hope Naz agrees to a 1 year Stanley cup run, I mean another year with the Avs. Doubt it but man ima miss that guy if he does* take a pay raise somewhere else, and good for him either way!! What class from the Avs!
I really want the sign and trade kind of thing. Give him the deal, the term, the money he deserves, with the understanding we will likely trade him in a year and let him approve the trade partners. Then he gets his term and money, and we get another year to develop a young center. But whatever sakic does I'm sure he knows there are ways around things, and knows what roster options make sense for him.
I wonder if Gabe was meant to be the host on the podium or he was just so drunk he took over and no one bothered to get Mcgahey back. Either way it was funny and amazing as all hell. He's going to feel that one in the morning.
Cuz hes a free agent and some team will offer him 9 million+ on a long term deal. And Mackinnon is due for a massive raise after next season. Doubt they can afford Naz
@@jamesgreensmith6469 Damn they just won the cup they should settle for 7millions a year or something. The avs won't have a better 2nd C next year if he leaves and that's gonna be a major difference.
@@kingofmemes5017 Yeah, supposedly he already said he will take less for the team to compete. Naz should think hard, this team lets him perform and he is already set for life money wise. He got the taste of the cup and must know Avs are the best bet.
Not an Avs fan but watching Makar play is amazing. Can’t wait for the next generation of young defensemans coming up, I’m sure many will want to emulate their game after him
When he came into the league because he's so tall, he was a bit uncoordinated, the coaches said he looked like a "baby moose on ice". So he's been called "Moose" ever since. When he scores, the announcers almost always say "the moose got loose". So they were saying "Mooooooooose"
Colorado fans have wanted to kick Rantanen out for a while now. Just check HFboards, for example. Countless posts how he is the worst player ever and needs to be traded or just kicked out.
