we're getting a new next big thing qb every year or two at this point, 2015 Jameis Winston, 2016 Jared Goff, 2018 Baker Mayfield, 2019 Kyler Murray, 2020 Joe Burrow, 2021 Trevor Lawrence, 2023 Bryce Young, now 2024 Caleb Williams. These guys almost never become what they're hyped up to be, it's all media nonsense. All hyped up to be best in the league lucky to be top 10 outside of 1 guy.

I think he handled the dumb combine question (that was inappropriate and belong is in the 1920s, not the 2020s) extremely well. A man who can show us emotions without lashing out in anger and harming people is a good man.

I'm reminded of the famous Deion Sanders meeting with the Giants. As Deion tells it, during the interview they wanted him to take this massive written exam. He then asked them where they were drafting, and upon learning they wear selecting 18th, declared that he would be long gone by then and wasn't wasting his time with their test. Because Sanders went on to be an inner circle hall of fame player, the story is viewed as an epic mike drop. But, had he flamed out, it would have been a massive cautionary tale of hubris of unproven players. It will be the same situation with Caleb.

You’re blowing this. Him not throwing and the agent thing aren’t very important right now. When it comes to the medical thing, there have been tons of guys that didn’t meet with or even talk with teams that they didn’t think had a chance of drafting them so I don’t think this is much different. At the end of the day the combine is just another tool to make an educated guess on players. We’ve seen guys with “character issue” end up being some of the pillars of locker rooms and communities and on the opposite end we’ve seen guys that were believed to be unproblematic act out against the media, players on their team, coaches, and even ownership

There’s a common denominator in top draft picks who bust: poor personalities. Caleb has this in spades. He is the guy who will tell you that you can’t spell team without me, and mean it.

He’s an exceptional talent and you’re doubting him because he paints his nails?

Look at how many good/great quarterbacks and players don't try to put themselves before everything else. There are plenty of players with talent that could have behaved the same way and they didn't. A lot of teams (and people in real life) just don't want to deal with potential headaches and will many times take someone that may not be the expected superstar, but they'd rather take a player that is still very good and doesn't have the baggage. Learn from history so you're not doomed to repeat it. If the red flags are going up, it might be smart to take a different route. The Bears have a decent QB, they should see what they can get for the #1 pick and put a bunch of talent on the team.

It appears this Caleb and his family have taken a very professional and pragmatic approach to the process. Remember, the NFL needs him and others like him, not the other way around. The fact people are frustrated he’s trying to orchestrate where he works at for the next 4 years blows my mind. All of Caleb's former teammates love and support him because he is a great guy and he will do anything to help his team win. I think no player should be giving their medical records to all 32 teams. Only ones that realistically can draft you. Lots of players have been supporting Caleb on this, because like Caleb said it's a waste of time and invasive. Plus, I think that there is a possibility that some unethical actors within these orgs could use that medical information to try and target areas of previous injury during games in order to cripple opponent's players. I don't think Caleb is a whiny little bitch. A current player told me. During his draft process the Jaguars lied saying he had health issues and concussion problems. He dropped to the fifth round. They did that so if the guy they wanted did drop to them they would pick him up. I don't believe anything around draft time. It's all smoke and mirrors. Bears will pick him 1st and if they don't they will forever be remembered for that.

People try to paint him as some arrogant cocky asshole which I rly don’t understand. I went to the same high school as Caleb and I can say with confidence that he is a great person and leader. Everyone that actually knows him only has good things to say abt him.

I remember not too long ago there were 2 QBs who felt like they deserved decision making privileges for their teams. Both left those teams, got a ton of money and have become complete busts. Why Washington would want that attitude from someone who hasn’t played a NFL game in their locker room is beyond me. Additionally The last time Washington drafted a hometown QB it didn’t go so well.

How much is an ownership stake worth in terms of $$$ off contract salary. There’s a couple of reasons the NFL doesn’t want to go down this road: 1. the NFL doesn’t want to provide a back door detour around the cap. Ownership stake is equity & thus has value. 2. How to value the cap hit of a stake. A 0.1% stake is $1 million for every Billion of team value. But as the valuation goes up does the hit go up. 3. CBA complications: as an owner & player is the player represented by the NFLPA or even subject to the protections and provisions if the CBA? 4. Can the team treat the stake as a no-trade clause? If traded without relinquishing the stake hasn’t the player have an apparent conflict of interest when playing his former team? IMO sports betting juggernauts might be leery. Of course if a de facto no trade situation when the player demands a trade couldn’t the team set the price for a buy back (“fire sale”)?

You should watch the combine press conference...Williams handled the tough questions well and answered a lot of these questions with class. You should probably listen to all the questions objectively before you judge the guy...he seemed poised not cocky to me..I like the kid
