Hey Nishant…I appreciate the information you are giving about Calgary. When we immigrated to Calgary in 2021 we initially lived at East Village and I would not recommend East Village to any new immigrants families. The community infrastructure is modern but it comes with two major drawbacks: 1. The drop-in Centre is located very close to community (Right next to Real Canadian Superstore) which makes the living in the community little unsafe. 2. Schools assigned to East Village are Mount Royal (Grade 6 to 9) and Western Canada (Grade 10 to 12). There is no school bus from East Village and kids have to use Calgary transit to commute to the schools. There is no direct transit bus or train to either of these schools from East Village. Our son had to change two buses to get to his school from East Village. As new immigrants we were not comfortable with our son boarding two buses or a train l, so we decided to move-out from East Village and relocate to a property closure to the school or with one direct bus route. As new immigrants it’s difficult for new comer kid to understand the route to school from East Village, as buses sometimes do not arrive on time (plus the snowfall to be considered). Thank you.
Thanks for such a detailed info. I really appreciate it. But I believe, no place is best for everyone. One size doesn’t fit all. Though I can understand East village may not be best for certain group of people but could be the best option for others. Regarding safety, I think its the case with entire Downtown. There is a drop-in center besides my apartment building too. That’s why I said at the end that if staying in or close to downtown then “homeless” activitues is something you will have to get used to. Can’t escape unfortunately!
I want to come through a visit visa and planning to take LMIA and then do job plz advise me which city would be better right now? Earlier response will be highly appreciated
I call it peaceful. But anyways it depends on what time you are out. This was Sunday evening. On sunday evenings generally people tend to be home early to prepare for Monday.
