I know this is an old post, but I disagree. Everything they've done post-"I am Nemesis" has been generic and uninspired. I feel an attempt was made with _Gravity,_ but it just doesn't compare to _SHTT,_ _The Awakening,_ or _Shadow Hearts._
I love this band's style, they seem to like to play a lot of minor/major thirds in thrash riffs... not necessarily their best album but still sounds like caliban. The guitarist can actually sing extremely well.
Seriously one of the best metalcore albums of all time, the amazing song writing just makes it so heavy, and it's even BETTER LIVE..... a favorite band
Today I'll take revenge for my solitary life For the desolation and the devastating void You pretend love that pushed me Into this darkness I was afraid of you But I loved you Until it burnt me from the inside I adored you, I hated you Sometimes my love was like a gaping hole That tried to swallow me With words came lies You took my world apart Back then I learned to hate And you taught me well You will hear the sound of my broken heart Before I'll destroy you And before you vanish into the cold void.ñ You'll know what you've done to me I was afraid of you But I loved you Until it burnt me from the inside I adored you, I hated you Sometimes my love was like a gaping hole That tried to swallow me With words came lies You took my world apart Back then I learned to hate And you taught me well 20 dark years of suffering!
I hear ya bro, im 27 and all through middleschool and highschool i listened to as i lay dying, darkest hour, unearth, evergreen terrace, and others those were metalcore bands, i listen to country mostly now lol, thats life.
I suggest everyone who likes this song to look up, even if just on Wikipedia, for an outline of The Tempest. Once you know the story of Prospero and Caliban, this song adquires a completely different meaning, especially at the chorus
