@@mangotango1252 Pantera, Lamb of God, Exhorder, Machine Head - pretty much a sub genre that has elements of death metal and elements of thrash (slowed down a little) but with more groovy, almost bluesy at times, head nodding riffs.

I admire these guys for being around this long I grew up with the early material along with cryptopsy and gorguts way back when-being a Canadian I'm proud we got noticed for extreme music in its early inception but I'm not really digging kataklysms newer stuff but I certainly respect them always will

Sounds like Dew Scented if they took the melodic death metal route. Maybe, I just have a selective memory, but, I remember these guys being more of a straight forward death metal band. Mind you, I haven't seen their name pop up for a good decade, now. Times change, I guess.

Kataklysm has been one of my favorite bands growing up, But now i feel we are on the same side. They are connected with the reality of the situation our planet is in with our species. I just wanted the band to know that you have my personal thanks for moving in with movement of purity. Music is the best way to make a message heard. And i believe all of us fans of Kataklysm delving into the esoteric meanings behind the content forged can all agree.

Saw these guys in Victoria last night...sick show...terrible venue but the band was amazing as usual...thanks for hitting the craziest town in Canada...hopefully next time you'll be at a proper Metal-fest with thousands in attendance which is long over-due to be organized and executed on this Island!

I felt what I thought was a little deathcore influence in this one. Right when it starts off with that breakdown-like riff. I liked the melody that they added to it, though. It didn't sound like those cliche deathcore breakdowns.

Good stuff, but since i grew up with Sylvain Era, this is like Backstreet Boys. The lyrics, the music... they fucked it all, for wider audience. Cryptopsy did the same. Own all Sylvain era cds, but never buying this era stuff. Unless they changed their name to something else : D

Been listening to kataklysm for more than 2 decades.. and still remains my all time favourite band.. though kataklysm during Sylvian houde as vocalist was insane fast technical a brand of death metal called northern hyperblast... But Take nothing from Mauricio Icanna who carried the band n become the band's vocalist in 1997 he's one hell of a vocalist.. love both vocalist of kataklysm.. 91-96.. 97 to present... badass band... To all new listeners I'd suggest you listen to more of kataklysm and you'll get hooked..
