Calibrate your Silhouette Cameo for print and cut projects

I was having SERIOUSLY misaligned cuts on my Portrait. I found this video and just ran through both settings -- they were all fine, and that apparently corrected my issue!

Thanks Karin!! Someone may have already mentioned this, but you can move your blade using the computer as well. In the calibration window, upper left (right below the little image of your silhouette), there is the same little 4 point arrows that when you click in a direction, it moves your blade. For those that do not want to fuss around with the cameo itself. Thanks for sharing this!!

I have the original Silhouette and was dumbfounded when it started to cut way off. I did some google searches and then went to RU-vid and typed in calibrating Silhouette machine. I found your video and tried it on my machine. Now it cuts perfectly! Thank you for this video!

Am on a Cameo 3 Silhouette, Silhouette Studio 4.1. Realised the instructions for calibration work only if pull the calibration bar in the reverse direction from what is mentioned in the video.

Hello thanks for the video , ok maybe you can help me , I have the right settings , size paper, cutting mat, I did the calibration, etc.... everything is good , but when I go to print and cut its never right on , always leaves a 1/16 extra on some areas of the cut , is that normal , or should it cut dead on thank you again for your video, ill subscribe

In the first calibration part of the video, you take out the cutting matt to check the presition of the cutted cross. Do you have to take out the matt for each cross before calibrating the next cross?

ok my cross cut exact and my distance is exact but my cut marks r not in same spot next to A and B or 1 and 2 but the distance is right so now what?

great video, one question, how do I know I am in the green area when placing the blade? I can't see anything saying Im in the green area

My Silhouette 3 recently got where it won't cut through smooth htv unless I set it on glitter. I have brand new auto blade in and It cuts fine on the wrong material setting so, I know the blade is in right. Will calibrating it reset the cutting problem?

Thank you for your great videos! In my case, the cut lines are crossing exactly where they should; however, the vertical lines are about 3 mm. longer, both at the top and the bottom, than the printed lines, and the horizontal lines start and end about 3 mm to the right of the printed lines. If I make the adjustment you show at 4:53 of your video, the whole cross moves to the left and, while this takes care of the horizontal line issues, the vertical cut lines are now to the left of the printed lines. And this, of course, would not fix the vertical length issue. Can you please help?

I just set up the Cameo 2. I've printed out the calibration page, loaded it into the machine but the arrows aren't working so that I can calibrate it. I tried the print and cut without calibrating it and it's cutting off the image. Frustrating...and it's a Saturday so no one is there.

hey there nice video very healpfull need some help that i didnt understand about spaces between AB and 1-2 i have portrait not cameo when i try it it cuts more up than A and not left the right one is of the paper also 1-2 wrong any suggest ?

Hello, question?? On the calibration does the cut line need to be right exactly in the middle? Mine cuts right on the edges of both lines nothing straight in the middle. As for the distance the little cut lines need to be exactly right above and under the letters and numbers as shown on screen? I'm having the hardest time getting this machine to print and cut properly. Thank you!

Will this work if my cuts are not "print and cut"? Because I've been cutting some stuff and since yesterday my machine started to cut unproperly some lines. I'm cutting boxes, and the dotted lines to make the folds are getting out of the box and are not aligned where they suposed to.

my cuts are on the lines, but cut past the ends of the lines at different distances. Is that considered perfectly calibrated?

Karin distance cut calibration A to B the A cut is approx 15 mil from the left of the page but I get no cut at the B to measure between is it different for the original silhouette which i'm still using. I do have the lastest design studio software

I tried to use print and cut tonight with registration marks. The machine recognized the registration marks but after reading them would not cut, it said busy at the top. Do you know what I am doing wrong or how to fix this problem ?

Im just cutting simple square shapes for stickers slightly roudned it then started cutting off out of the blue. I cant calibrate anything as my cutter does not have the window screen like yours does. I have Silhouette Portrait 2 - this is super frustrating!

I am so frustrated, my arrow keys do not work on the new Cameo 3 to calibrate my machine. I called Silhouette and they told me that the calibration is not for print and cut and do not have anything to do with the machine cutting correctly around the image. Have you tried using the new Cameo? I have a Mac and have been so upset that I have gone back to my Cameo 2.

My A-B distance is just fine but my 1-2 distance is off by a great amount. I measured 184mm and I'm not sure how to even adjust it being the ruler on the silhouette program only goes slightly below 196...any suggestions?

I noticed that my up and down calibration on the crosses is cutting a little too long. How do I get it to stay within the lines?

So when we are calibrating we 1) imagine the green squares and hit calibration? 2) unload and load 8 times because are 8 squares?

Please Help. I have been able to get the first portion of the calibration right. But the 2d Distance portion is driving me crazy. My Distance between lines is A-B 207mm and 1-2 is 208mm. I have attempted to move the lines by changing the distance in the calibration setting but all this does is slides the entire set of line right or left depending on my calibration. It does not change the distance between the two points. Does this make sense? Every time I recheck my measurement the distance is still the same although the lines themselves have moved. Im going insane. My cutting is all off whack! Its driving me insane.

Hi, if the green box doesn't print how can i align the machine to it?

When I start my calibration the laser goes over the lines and then the blade looks like it goes over the line but it never cuts...any ideas?

This doesn't work for a Portrait as there are now arrows to adjust the blade :-(

I'm having a problem with my machine not showing the cutting setting when I use a file I made with my Cameo 2

Hi I have a question that cannot be solved maybe you can help me 😭 So I need to cut these blue circles with no offset border, just round blue circles. But it always cuts on some of them off, so on the sticker I can see a bit of the white background paper. I tried calibration but it was pretty much on the crosses and also the distance was exactly at 20cm. I noticed that this inaccurancy is mostly in the upper half and on each of them less or more severe some of them turn out perfectly. I cut in good lighting, chose the right paper size and place it perfectly on the mat. Of course there are ways to get these circles but I am just frustrated knowing my machine is cutting off ;( I use epson printer on highest quality also have the latest version of silhouette studio…. Thanks😞❤️

Has anyone here had issues with distance adjustment? A - B is perfect at 200.0mm but 1 - 2 is out at 200.5mm, I adjusted it on the slider and made the test cuts again but they were exactly the same. As a test, I adjusted it to 204.5mm and it still made the same cuts. If I change the horizontal settings, the test cuts do come out differently. Suggests that I'm doing it right but the machine isn't accepting the vertical changes. I can't find anyone else who's had this issue. Silhouette Support Team are absolutely useless and refusing to answer why this will not work. It is clearly not a print related issue because, as shown in this video, you do not even register the distance adjustment test page, you only make cuts.

Please help me. I'm seriously about to cry. I can't find anyone that can help me, no tutorials nothing. My silhouette is not making any cuts when I do the calibration. I even tried using one of the pens. It can sketch fine, but nothing happens when I hit calibrate. I'm so fed up I am about to return this piece of garbage.

Cutting correctly is rubbish with the Cameo 3. This ain't rocket science and they have registration marks to read but the machine is total garbage and a waste of money. They don't have a manual, they include spelling errors on their screen and their customer supprt is terrible. Buy any other machine, just don't buy from Silhouette.

My print and cut is so off it's driving me crazy. I follow your instructions but cannot get into the calibration menu ? Please help
