Trandy THANKS for all the videos. I wasn't confident with livescope until I found your channel. I've found that your information is easy to use and put into play. Keep it up!!
I've had my system since last April. You have taught me more, In 5 videos, than a pro that took me out and charged me!!! I found out he has lowrance on his boat????!!! Wth? Please keep it coming. I'm sharing with my livescope friends!
I've watched quite a few videos on Livescope; yours is the first that even talked about calibration. Your content is really appreciated, and they help!
I've been using livescope for almost 2 years... have won a few tournaments where without it I couldn't have fished the way I did... and I had no idea about the waypoints after calibration!
@@The_Garmin_Guru do you have to calibrate every time you turn off your units and disconnect them from the cradle? Are you calibrating first thing every time you get on the water?
Good question bud. With the force you don’t have interference like that cause it’s brushless as you can see by my spin rate and magnetic percentage. But because I have had this question a few times I’m gonna do a calibration test both ways and see if it matters. Be on the lookout for that.
Randy, I’ve read that some people claim the you have to point your transducer (pole mount) to the bow of the boat when calibrating. This isn’t making sense to me, because if the transducer was mounted to the troll motor the transducer would be positioned either 90 degrees to the right or left as the boat rotates. Does it matter which way the transducer (LSV34) is pointed when calibrating? Thanks, Your are a gift to those of us wanting to ACCURATELY learn about LS. And you are a Louisiana Boy! Dan Ayo Thibodaux, LA.
Great video. When I calibrated the compass on my LiveScope two things happened that I haven't seen on other videos re this topic: First, I don't get the boat icon, I get a circle with an "N" at the top as we saw in your video; second, when the trolling motor is pointed straight ahead the beam shows its shooting 90 degrees to the port side. How can I get the boat icon and have the beam shoot out the direction the trolling motor is facing?

I’ve tried calibrating my 1222 and the % process never starts up and I’ve tried restarting the unit numerous times. The water was calm all times I’ve tried this calibrating and it still won’t work. It’s pole mounted and I’ve gotten it calibrated in the past with no issues until recently and I did it the same way every time,I’m just baffled why It’s not calibrating this time. I’ll probably call Garmin next time on the water and do a live troubleshoot on it
I need to watch more of your videos. I had to update my 2 Garmin 93's and my LS 32 to get the LS to even work. Now I cannot get it to let me calibrate as it has the mssg to make sure transducer is in the proper orientation. I put the front 93 on forward (the 2 93's are not linked yet). The transducer is on forward. It won't let me calibrate. All I get on the screen is a blob and no bottom at all.
if you have it mounted on the trolling motor it needs to be pointed forward lol i learned that today while i was trying to turn with my trolling motor hahaha i must have not slept much last night because it took me a minute to figure out what was wrong hhhaha
Most everyone says it dont work and will not stay set. Mine has never line up with the livescope transducer. Maybe Garmin will resolve it and furnish a update.
It’s not gonna line up. It’s not based on direction of transducer direction. It’s based on the direction the transducer is pointing in relation to the compass rose Garmin Livescope: Beam Indicator On Screen and Why Its Useless and The Best Way To See Your Beam ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KZSum-Bjcrc.html
Thanks for the video. I had a question I have a Hobie pro angler 24 with xi3 motor guide trolling motor with gps capability spot lock with live scope mounted on trolling motor shaft. Can what you are showing be done on this type of set up. I have the key Bob that operates trolling motor not the foot pedal. Let’s see if this works. Looking forward to receive your comment Randy
I think it will work great actually. Be conscious that you don’t overotate the shaft and put your cord in a bind. Other that I would love that setup on a kayak. You’ll need plenty of service loop at the spot where the shaft rotates
Instructions say to have the transducer far enough away from trolling motor during calibration, but doesn't say exactly how far away, what would you recommend? Planning to mount to trolling motor
Thanks for the video. I had a question I have a Hobie kayak with livescope transducer mounted on the trolling xi3 motor guide with spot lock gps capability. Can what are showing be done on this set up. I don’t have foot control but I have the key Bob which controls the motor. Hope to hear back with your comment soon Randy
Having trouble with calibration….I turn the transducer 90 degrees to the bow and rotate the boat in the same direction . It will not calibrated unless I point the transducer in the same direction as the bow is pointing and then rotate. Using the method it seems to calibrate but the wide part of the beam point the opposite direction of the transducer. Is this normal?
I calibrate my compass and get 94% but the indicator still does not line up with the actual livescope?? It's usually close to 45 deg off. What can I do?
Good video BUT why do they just seem to STOP in the middle of you talking? 1st video I didn't think to much about it but this is the 2nd one? Just a little curious! Nevertheless cool information!
Cause I run out of video and it’s freaking hard to sync the voiceovers. Lol. I ain’t professional by no means. It only cut off the extra thank you for watching and subscribing lol
Ok, I caibrated my unit but the beam is pointing to the left and my trolling motor is facing straight ahead. What do you recommend I do? I’ve thrown my lure in every direction and can’t see it.

I always have. I have a new video coming out this week comparing calibration with the big motor to calibration with the trolling motor to see which one is more accuarte
My lvs32 will not calibrate unless i remove it from the trolling motor and turn it by hand, I tried trolling motor on, trolling motor unplugged and turned by foot pedal, big motor, and also turning boat out of water with truck nothing .Have this running with its own seperate lithium ion battery
@@The_Garmin_Guru I calibrated and my flashlight was not pointing the way the transducer was pointed. Garmin tech support told me I had to get SteadyCast with compass for flashlight to match the TM
@@The_Garmin_Guru good deal thx. I am new to livescope only been on the water twice with it is there better settings or a better view forward or down to be able to see your bait more?
When did they switch the compass mine showed a little boat with a beam coming off it I haven’t calibrated it in a while .maybe I missed a update. I fish off a kayak and have a pole mount.
Hi, I've been having issues with my Garmin when the ARHS on. The screen just looks like it's sending out pulses and yet nothing shows during this. I have tried calibrating and it won't calibrate. You have any ideas as to what I need to do or what the issue is? Meaning transducer bad, unit itself or the black box.
@@The_Garmin_Guru Hi and thank you for replying back. Pulses, meaning it just sends out rings with no bottom or anything else. It would be better to somehow send you a short video of it. I contacted Scott Henderson from the Bass Tank(where purchased) and he was very helpful to a point then the conversation went dead on his end. Once he said I could use it without the AHRS being on that's when it stopped. I tried calibrating it and it won't do that either. All I know is once this happened the screen isn't near as crisp as it was. I'm not tech savvy so any help would be greatly appreciated. Just needing to know if something is bad and need to replace it.
Any idea why my calibration goes away? I have to redo it multiple times a year sometimes daily. I know its probably good to re-calibrate but what a pain.
@@jasonguidry6449 hey bud I just thought about what you were saying. You are correct sir. If you calibrate in forward position it’s calibrated only for that position. It will save that calibration should you switch to down or perspective mode but it’s not calibrated for those other positions. Unfortunately the transducer can only be calibrated in one position at a time. So if you last calibrated in forward and you are fishing with it in perspective you’ll need to recalibrate for the perspective.
Hey, I've tried to calibrate 20 times shallow water deep it just won't work, maybe to close to trolling motor? It's about 8 inches up from the motor with a trolling motor summit mount, any suggestions?
@@The_Garmin_Guru I can go around in a circle for 5 minutes and it never hits the hundred percent and doesn't complete I've done it with the electric motor and the gas
If my Livescope is mounted on a separate pole and not the TM, what direction should I have the Livescope pointed if I’m making a right/left turn 1.5 times to calibrate with the TM? That part has me confused. As I understand you have yours next to trolling motor but mine is on separate pole on Starboard side near bow
What I can say is, when the boat is going north as the compass on the screen is the transducer points correct and going another direction the transducer is not related to the compass
Hey Guru, I’m new to livescope plus. I watched this video a few times. I even watched it on the water. But I can’t get to pass calibration. I tried 3 different times on 3 different parts of the lake. Spin quality is 99% Magnetic environment is 3%. Please help if possible. Head unit is UHD 93sv
What kind of trolling motor. If you’re having that much trouble with magnetic then you have a serious magnetic interference problem somewhere. Most likely your trolling motor
@@The_Garmin_Guru 2022 Ultrex 24v. After watching other videos, I have the transducer on the shaft but it might be too close the motor. I plan on sliding it up a few inches.
Do you have it on yours? Garmin is telling me I need it to fix the problem I wrote about to you three weeks ago, but it's never mentioned in all of the RU-vid videos on this subject.
My livescope will only calibrate on 'down' view and will not calibrate on 'forward' view. I don't change the transducer angle ... just switch to "down" on the livescope orientatation menu. I get a message when menu is set to "forward" that transducer must be in correct position to calibrate. My forward view works fine as far as seeing objects in the water. My transducer is set right on the 'forward' view mark upon the decal on my perspective mount. Any ideas why I can't calibrate in forward view?
@@The_Garmin_Guru - got it solved. Re-installed my update directly from an SD card and it fixed most all the problems I was having. The update must have gotten corrupted while installing with Active Captain. After the AC update, couldn't see a lure beyond 27 feet or so. After the forced update using the SD card, on first cast I could see my jerkbait at 55 feet. Now have it set so an A rig is literally exploding at 90 feet. Amazing how much the reinstallation from the card fixed things. No more Active Captain updates for me.
Yes sir have a video of this but the accuracy is way down but definitely still results in a good test. Garmin Livescope Calibration: Option #3 Using Your Truck to Calibrate your Transducer ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iMawPGG4Wb4.html
