I purchased a 2008 Stratos 386xf last year for fishing Lake Erie and local lakes in Ohio. Mostly going for walleye/saugeye, bass, and Muskie with an occasional crappie trip. The boat was equipped with a mix of equipment, a minnkota Powerdrive V2 that had been upgraded to iPilot, a Garmin Echomap SV 7” and Lowrance Elite TDI 7 on the dash and a small lowrance unit on the bow. A lowrance gps puck is on the stern. I’m pretty intent on Livescope 34 and thinking about upgrading the trolling motor to a better minnkota model or the Garmin Force or even Ghost. If I align to a single brand I like the idea of networking. I think active target and livescope 34 both could be helpful for trolling for walleye and Muskie. I’m also interested in Mega360 but maybe a later add on. The trolling motor spot lock on the older power drive isn’t great and while I like the remote control for trolling it’s not precise enough and too distracting while casting and there is no option for a foot pedal and remote with my model. Should I mix and match with what I have or consolidate to one brand? The cheap route might be a livescope 32 with my current echo map 73, but I’m thinking a new unit mounted up front and maybe the force to go with it? The older units are fine for downscan and sidescan trolling applications and mapping. Thanks!
One comment about pole vs shaft. I had my transducer on the trolling motor shaft and when in spot lock, the trolling motor would sometimes turn 360° and I didn't have enough extra transducer cord so it started to ruin the cord. Make sure you test it and have some slack when turns all the way both directions.
I'm new to this livescope thing trying to get the unit to calibrate and it keeps saying trans needs to be implode and the unit is already in the water and can not be calibrated. Can you help me understand the problem?
I recently bought ultra 106sv online. Still yet to pick it up in store. I'm going to get an lvs34 system also. Does the lvs34 system come with correct cables to connect to an echomap ultra?? Got my ultra106sv for 899. From bass pro with club card membership. Plus another 42bucks in bass pro$ for purchase. Killer deal!!! It does come with gt54 but that's fine I can get a 56 & still have saved 800 bucks! I'm going wait little while see if they release any new 3n1 transducers first. Usually when they have sales like this it means new stuff is coming. Just like lowrance did same sales & released HDS pro new 3n1 & active target transducers.
I'll b setting this up in my Hobie pa12 360. An ultra 106sv lvs34 & steady cast with amp outdoors 32ah 14 v lithium battery. I already have a nmea 200 starter kit to connect my heading sensor. Is their any other cables I need to get this all connected??
Iam looking at using this trolling for salmon in the nw 50 ft of water or less generally more like 30 we have a 18ft windshield boat and a 93 uhd echo map we also have a bow bount minnkota we steer with a lot would it be able to put transducer on the minnkota barrel and be able to see our spread behind the boat trolling or would that be only available to look fwd while trolling thx
Great info, my new boat will be arriving in 3 weeks, ordered lvs34 at the classic. Supposed to ship around July, after 2 other release dates push backs. Have you heard of the Sharrow props, other than expensive, what are your thoughts, Thank you,
new subscriber for crappie fishing in 10 foot pelican boat on northeast Texas public lakes along shore and creek what's the best combo screen with livescope
Many of us up North like the option of a more portable bundle that can be used for ice fishing and on the boat. Are you considering offering a bundle like that? I'm already sold on the new livescope and am ready to buy. Is there a waiting list?
Can u guys do indepth vi on comparison of Garmin's standard maps & LakeVu G3 Ultra maps & Garmin's Navionics Vision +. I can't find to much on them like see if it's worth extra $$
I wasn't so interested in LS initialy, Ill be buying my first graph this year, I've been kayak fishing for 7yrs now, so it's about dam time I gets unit... I currently have Hobie PA12-360. I'm somewhat on fence about units. Solix10 gn3 with mega 360 & potentially add mega live down raid once it catches up. Or get Ultra 106sv with LVS34? Both would be great set ups!!! I really like Lake master mapping. This why I was asking about in depth vids in garmins higher quality maps, so I can compare them with lake masters. What's your guys input on this matter. I am open to suggestions
So if your striper fishing like lake Texoma would it be beneficial mounted on the transom along with down and side imiging. Can you run live scope, down and side imaging at the same time.
you can run all three (side imaging, down imaging, livescope) at the same time with out interference. They can be mounted on the transom, but obviously that is a fixed position. On a pole mount or trollingmotor is preferred so you can easily follow fish/bait fish as they are moving in realtime.
I'm a kayak angler I plan on getting Echomap ultra 106sv & lvs34. Should I use 2 separate batteries, 9one for graph& another for black box, or can I run both a a larger AH lithium battery??
We run both on a larger AH lithium battery. sometimes space on a kayak can be an issue, so we recommend the bigger AH single battery than separate batteries.
@@RussellMarineProductsLLC is there a way to trade my LVS32 and some cash for LVS34? I literally bought LVS32 two seasons ago and now trying to sell the transducer to get LVS34.
I primarily troll for salmon in 15 to 60 ft of water at speeds of 1 to 4 mph on the Columbia River as well as hover fish in 30 to 50 ft of water. Would you recommend livescope or panoptix?
I am going to have both lvs systems and have 2 ultra Echomaps. I would like to use both the lvs 32 and a lvs 34 together (the lvs 34 in forward mode and the lvs 32 in perspective mode). Do you see any problems doing this? Do you recommend mounting both transducers on one pole? Are there going to be interference problems? Thanks. Doug.
No issues at all. We have several customers doing this with 2 lvs32 systems currently. we do recommend both be mounted to the same trollingmotor shaft or pole mount. We have not seen interference from this yet.
