The 90s. When college students played high school students in sitcoms. I remember getting to high school and remember everyone still looked like kids even though we all acted like adults. Simpler days.
Loved this show growing up. Jake was my favorite. His character was the reason why I got into the show. I just wish they had kept Matt longer, because he and Jake were awesome.
They were !!! I was always crazy for Jake but looking back now lol Matt was hot and I liked him too. Would have been nice to have both for a while. Matt left the show too soon
I love, how during every season, the main characters got used to the new characters that became part of the cast of the show. But it was real sad to see some of the original characters leave, without notice.
I really felt that rejection, I always thought they were all so shallow and judgmental this episode....he came all the way to the house, wrote them a song, just to be turned away :(
If you want to watch season 2 with a semblance of continuity, I suggest you watch in this order: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 11, 15, 6,7,8,9,10,12,13, 14, 16, 17, 18.
@@PepsolmanUnfortunately, much like its predecessor Saved by the Bell, episodes were aired out of order each season. Never understood why they do this, but it seemed to be the standard of NBC back then.
lmao 10:37 is so funny with Tony holding a bat and Sly had a hockey stick in his hand ready to come out and help beat Jake up and then they run back, i love it.
Great episode but...spotted a problem. Jake tells Matt he's never put his poetry (lyrics) to music before. Then they want him to join the band and...he plays guitar?! So either Jake lied (which is possible) or plothole!!! This is a funny episode, and I kinda liked the Jake/Jenny thing. Shame it only had 3 episodes, and that Jenny left at that point. Still, those 3 episodes were pretty cool.
Jake is a really great guy in the show. I liked him a lot. he's talented, Handsome, and he is very lucky with the ladies. Shit, I'd date him in a heartbeat.

My favorite show growing up. And when Jake joined the show. I automatically through him a kiss during the opening credits. And the funny thing is in real life when the show was on the air. A year later, in high school I met a boy during a night time poetry reading event, who looked like Jake in real life, it was a school field trip. He was not with my group. We were on our way out and he came over to our group because he knew one of the girls in my group. And he went to the same high school but I never saw him in the halls at school. He was talking to the other kids in my group and I wanted to get to know him better. And I was to shy, and I did manage to let him know I was interested in him. I think in the end I got the courage to speak and share my favorite poet. Which he liked. And just before my group were about to walk away. Due to my group's driver was leaving. He asks me for my phone number, and I wrote it down and forgot to put my name next to it. When my group got to the car I was mad at myself for not adding my name. And figured he would never call me. And the next school day I randomly saw him in the halls at school. I did not go over to him or say anything to him. I just made my way to class my next class, and I was not sure if he even seen me or would remember me. And there was no way I could go over, and talk to him since I would be late for class if I did. And he ended up calling me any way. We went out for a little while but never ended up as boyfriend and girlfriend. And we quit seeing each other. Then as the years went by we randomly met up again as adults. He just happened to be walking down the same sidewalk as me. And I was with my mom and younger sister. At first I did not want to have anything to do with him. And pretended I did not know him. My younger sister had to open her mouth and say yeah you know him. Even though she never met or seen him before. And so I felt like I was forced to say I yes I knew him. And we talked he asked me for my phone number and gave it to him. We started seeing each other, but never made it official. In the end he turned out to be bad news. The funny thing is he kept coming back into my life for a couple of years. And we never kept in touch. And as many times as he crossed my path over the years when I was younger. I never went back to him. Plus he was separated from his wife at that time. And for me it just would not work out. And I'm glad it was me who ended things without having to say the words. At one point I thought is he stalking me. At around that time the cell phone was still kind of new, he did not have my phone number nor Email. And I was not on social media either. And by this time I got my own apartment and I got another job. And just like before we randomly crossed paths. I was a cashier at my new job in a small grocery store, and I was working there for a year before he walked in. And the store I worked at was no where near where he lived. And he ended up getting a job there too. Thankfully we never had to work at the same time. He did not last very long at that job and I was happy. And I kept my distance from him. He ended up going back to his wife had a couple of kids. That was the end, of my seeing him. And boy oh boy I am so glad him and his wife made up and got back together. I pray I'll never have to see him ever again.
i gotta say ...in this episode...they showed that they are users lol. they didnt want jake in the ban til they read his song. they gave em a chance cause of the song he wrote...

Yes, and Tiffani reminds me of Becky from Roseanne because they are blonde women. However, there are two different actresses, hence these different shows.
She chose to leave but yeah, this line-up could have been really good I think. I think they just brought her back at the start of season 2 so it wouldn't be 2 new characters (Jake & Sam) joining right at the same time.
Jake, the 90's version of the Fonz. Also one more thing. Considering this is a show about teens. First time this season they show them actually going to school.
i liked california dreams use to be my 2nd favorite behind save by the bell but I didn't get into it til 3rd season til it ended why they get rid of the sister and brother never got that

Now, I am stoked that they released the show on DVD, but did they cut out parts of this episode? I noticed that in some that there were scenes cut out even on the DVD releases.
