Can you tell us which jetty it is? Fisherman life channel tells people where he went during the early years and that is how he grew so fast. Given that there are hundreds of fishing channels, you have to be different to standout. By giving out the exact location you will make your channel unique

The sad part is that he probably convinced himself that is the reason Fishermans life got big. Even funnier is, people like that tend to defend their word to the end. If not to save face, because they have nothing better to do.

Nice. I’ve only been there once but fished the south jetty instead. Caught this one thing that looked like a tumbleweed but sucker was moving around. Scarred the crap out of me that at bush was alive. Lol

i jetty fish alot try running a texas rig with a pegged weight like you would for bass fishing i slay the rock fish and lingcod plus i lose verry little gear

Ive prob been skunked 50 times on that jetty. Sacrificed so much tackle to the rocks too. Ive had better luck on the south jetty

I tried it, rate it 50/50. SNAG. I rather have jig head with a fluke. Just my opinion though, you won't know it under you tried it. Every jetty is different. GL

You will lose less tackle with a mono or flouro leader. Braid just touches the rocks under tension itll break. It gets frayed easier too. I use the thickest flouro i can get away with when the bonito were biting last year. I still lost a shit tone of krocodile spoons though but they were broken off by seals not the rocks.

No. You do not need a license to fish off a jetty or a pier in California

No license required to fish off a man made pier or jetty in California. However: 2 rods max, 1 rod max if taking rockfish or fishing in the bay, all standard size and take limits still apply.
