I thought of that too, but I figured I could save time by washing the strips of sod roots only once, as the sluice was working perfectly beside the island.
@@TheJohnEdmonton Yes it works great except when I started washing a lot of roots and bigger root wads I noticed that it was actually touching my gold that I caught and I’ve lost gold washing roots in my sloo box that way but it still works good either way I still do it either way sometimes
John - Edmonton ~The Le Trap is "not" drop riffles. Yes the California sluice does have drop riffles, but the Le Trap has dual-ramp riffles (some people call them dual-step). I have had a black Le Trap sluice in the 1980's and a green one now. I also have 2 California sluices. I bought a Rip Saw sluice but did not use it yet. But my very favorite plastic sluices are the Angus MacKirk with the Abyss Au-Trap anti surge trenches. I have several of these. The older gray ones are better quality than the newer black ones.
