Latinos are a majority in LA right now. It's not they suck (that would be racist) but we DO only get their poverty. POVERTY is it! And then they breed here and poverty grows and grows.... Education is where they don't do so well.... we have over 1/2 of them failing and dropping out. The communities they create here or take over rather, become slummy MEXICO like places.......not like the suburbs, clean, safe and middle class of the past. Third world is our destiny now thanks to the huge growth from those from south of the border. I'm a native here........witnessed all this first hand

Some Hispanics are white so they would add to the white population as well as add to the Hispanic population. Spain is like. Italy, they're white and European.

@surgedark Where I live here in the midwest ,the police & FBI busted this Mexican contractor who was using illegal immigrants,putting contractors who worked in the area for years out of business because they couldn't compete with his low prices.You should have seen all the people cheering and high fiving at watching the authorities haul him away.This guy from SoCal told us if this had happened in cali,the people who reported him would have been the ones to get arrested.L.A. & SoCal are gone.

Drive through rancho cucamonga and see dozens of office buildings for lease, empty malls and bacivly ghost towns that were build to accomodate 200% rate increse in the population...amazing how things can shift so fast

Pretty impressive video. When a left-winger in your country compares USA with Europe he fails to consider how illegal immigration is managed here and there. In most Europe population remains quite stable, while in USA grows by 3 million each year since 1990. In many euro countries illegal immigration is an offense even punished with jail (in Germany). Of course we have problems but i doubt we will ever have 1 undocumented immigrant out of every 25 inhabitants.
@Shilohmx1 I'll say again,NY & L.A. immigration stories have been totally different.In NY immigrants came to america to become americans and passed through ellis island.Therefore They all had and still have a certain sense of togetherness,this is our New York for better or for worse.Much of it also has to do with the kind of immigrants.New York for the most part has chosen quality over quanity,at first mostly eurocentic,then hispanics(the right kind)even african immigrants and persians,asians.-

Mexico gets independence from Spain in 1821 and the US takes California in 1848. Does that 27 year span lasts forever? Does Spain taking it from natives first still matter? Alta California was sparsely populated and backwards until the boom years in 1920-1960, when those generations, mainly white Americans, but also Latinos, blacks, and Asians made it the great place it is. California belongs to those who make it better, not exclusively white, but CERTAINLY not exclusively Hispanic either.

Yes, I am a white Hispanic. My race is white, but my ethnicity is Hispanic. Most Americans think Hispanic is a race that supposed to look like mestizos and Native Americans. It's odd, because in Latin America, Hispanicity is tied to the culture of whites from Europe (Spain), and in the U.S., Hispanic is tied to non-whites from Latin America. North America was not the only place Europeans settled. They settled heavily in Latin America too. Just the poor ones immigrating to the U.S. are mestizos.

And by the way, you speak of South America being mixed with natives and blacks, South Americans could say the same about Americans from the U.S., which most of you have blood from Native Americans and according to a study on white Americans, 1/3 of you have traceable black ancestry, now take that. White South Americans are descendents of Spaniards, Italians and Germans, most are not mixed race, but are mixed of those European ethnicities.

I agree! In this country Spain aren't considered Latinos but Hispanics. Hispanics can be of any race as well as Latinos. Which means an increase in Latin Americans would also increase blacks, whites, Indians, and Asians in our country. Latinos comes in different shades, which this media is too ignorant to know. There's one race and that's the human race. There's diversity in most countries so not every person from a certain country has a "racial appearance". That's like saying the United States is a race, a race of whites since the are the majority but there's also dark-skinned Latinos, blacks, and Indians (Indians were the first ones here). Race is subjective and if you asked people how many races there are, you'd get different numbers. Race is a subjective term that means looking a certain way. To me, the term race is nonsense. In 2020, the US Census are going to abandon race from their forms replacing it with ethnicity. That should help reduce racism in our country but the Census would still be wrong because we're not Italian Americans, Latin Americans, or Native Americans - we are one ethnicity and that is American.
