@@joshuavang5449yeah but a lot of housing for them have huge waiting lists as well as services. They could apply for things and wait weeks for answers.
The problem is not the homeless the problem is that everything is so damn expensive now. That’s the problem fix that issue and ppl will be able to afford homes and food along side all the necessities.
@@swallowedinthesea11 Its not that easy. Supply and demand? If u force busisnesses to lower prices then a supply shortage will happen, which will increase the prices even more
@@CatDaddySteve YES i took a high-risk ordered to bedrest pregnant woman & her 3yr old son into my home AFTER WITNESSING the local Catholic Church turn her away for her FLESH being in the "wrong zipcode" - sounds like they worship FLESH instead of GOD.
I wouldnt have a problem with these encampments, if they didnt trash the surrounding area and make it unsafe for the rest of the neighborhood. I know its meant for working people who cant make ends meet. But as usual it will be ruined by ppl who arent trying to better themselves. There needs to be rules in these places and strict enforcement of the rules to keep them viable.
I respectfully disagree, because people with physical and mental disabilities exist. Im not sure they'll get hired or even is capable of work(Especially the bedridden ones)
They don't want to truly fix the problem. You do that and you take away alot of jobs because homelessness in America is an industry at this point. To many people rely on them being homeless for their own personal gain. The housing market knows theirs always going to be a demand so their good 👍, company's can keep raising their prices and blame it on the crime that homelessness brings 🫳, and politicians get to throw petty tax payer money at the issue for your vote like the 12.5 million grant this lady wants ✍️
Hear me out, just thinking, to make sure that the homeless would not take advantage of this kindness, they need to sign a contract that the temporary home will cost nothing for a year, but after a year, they need to ensure they get to find a job, and the rent will be 5% of their monthly income. At least they will have a year to find a job, they can choose to stay at the tent for another year, or find a better home since they're earning after a year. Although I'm not sure what penalty is if they don't find a job after a year because eviction wouldn't actually solve their problems but not being able to find a job after a year, do you think that's highly unlikely for someone who isn't really diligent in looking for a job.
You could link it with various job seeking initiatives, like free (but locked down) internet access, help with resumes, job coaching, help with interview techniques and the like. Maybe also free classes in how to use PCs and the internet for those people who don't know how to use them. Perhaps also free ebooks on how to use Excel, etc (MS practically gives them away nowadays so zero cost to the taxpayer, whilst upskilling someone for a job). Another thought is asking for volunteers to help them process paperwork for social housing. I used to do that here at a charitable org here in the UK and would go through their paperwork and check for errors, etc before submitting it to the local authority.
This is so nice to see!!!💜 OUR country is too busy spending millions overseas and millions for ALL the immigrants that keep entering this country by the bus loads BUT can't even HELP OUR OWN ppl....OUR homeless, OUR starving, OUR elderly and OUR vets!!! HOW HORRIBLE & FRUSTRATING!!!😡
This seems pretty different. People have shelters and big tents and stuff like that except what I usually see with smaller tents and drug addicts and stuff
Because it costs money to move somewhere. How will they move if they have no car? Gas money, or bus money? Where would they even move to without money to get a place?
@@tacobell1299 yeah that’s very true. My thought is the video presents the working homeless; people that have jobs but don’t make enough to live in a home. Why not save the money to move, and rent an apartment somewhere cheaper?
@@cormacthem8406this may be what they're doing. They can save money while living here. It takes a lot to move. But, honestly, this isn't a California problem, it's an EVERYWHERE problem
@DG-nk7jo-That doesn’t matter. A little pride in the space they have, and as a ‘thank you’ to the people who supplied the space/shelter, would help with the mind-set of the general public. Not only that, it would give them a little more pride, and self esteem, in themselves.
@@marypasco2213 Choose: Keeping the homeless off the street and out of the way OR do nothing for the homeless and let them defecate in your yard or in front of your business. Pick One.
@@marypasco2213 I worked for 10 years at a non-profit resource center that serviced the working poor and the homeless. I more than most people know what the homeless go through on a day to basis.
All these new apartments buildings and home they built is still empty not full why tf the city or state want help the working homeless get in a new apartments instead of sleeping outside in tents California really needs to go down on the costs of living rent is to damn high out here these owners loosing more money they cant get no one to rent it to much they ask for to much knowings we have a high percentage in homeless in California ppl got used to in living outside since covid they gonna continue unless the state the city and the owners stop being greedy asf for money just bcus wages went up that doesn't mean rent and mortgage should go up smh it no balance on the costs of living smh food is high gas is high utilities is high everything is high u gotta pay 4 times amount to move into an apartment the want first last and double deposit every one over 18 $100 application fees non refunded smh it horrible to live in cali i feel sorry for those who couldn't maintain smh i thank god im able to maintain even tho it a struggling and working overtime hours just to keep a roof over our head smh lack of sleep no time with my kid due to single momi gotta keep working to prevent from being homeless
If that happens in the UK our Prime Minister would fine the homeless and then after a month send those homeless people into prison being he’s trying to make a bill to enforce a £2,500 fine on anyone found to be homeless and failing to pay a fine within a certain amount of time is then sent to prison.
if u want CRIME DOWN - HELP the POOR or the POOR will be forced to HELP themselves (CRIME) it';s NOT rocket science - NO MORE SELFISH MOVE TO MAKE THEN CHARITY - it is REALLY helping YOURSELF - so WISE UP
Peoples wouldn't be homeless if jobs where paying a better living wage not only that shouldn't be no more tax cuts for the rich close out the loophole where megapastor can buy mansion without having to pay any property taxes for that property.
Yet people keep giving their money to celebrities by buying their products and going to see their movies and buying their music. The celebrities who have multi-million dollar houses, yet don't help people like this and sure as hell would not help you. Unbelievably evil.
$12 million dollar grant for folks to put up their tents? Yet the previous video i watched accused a veteran of milking it from the city because he built his own living space with his own resources. What's wrong with this picture. Gotta love USA
With all the money we spend giving to other countries to fight unnecessary wars, we can divert just a small fraction of it to help those who were once or now tax payers
What about all the money going over seas to fund 2 wars? Possibly more then 2 wars. That money could stay here, at home, to help the people who need the help. Smfh. The America we live in. What is the "American Dream" anymore?! It's B.S
I think unfortunately people will take advantage of this system and there will be even more homeless. We need something that people can't take advantage of but still assist them off the street.
We have really nice new jails with like 80% white inmates and all,I think I'd commit a petty crime and go to jail before I sleep in the streets.I don't have any habits or anything so yeah I'd lay up in the ac and heat and eat and watch TV and sleep all day.they don't do ror here either,a bench warrant for a traffic ticket will get you 3 or 4 months waiting to go to court if nobody bonds you out.
give them free access to an finacial advisor, so they can learn how to use their money and what to pay off first. i bet you, this will also improve the numbers of homeless people you guys have.
How about this....save what little money you can and LEAVE California. This isn't rocket science. If you're healthy and not mentally ill and able to work then get your paper up and leave. It's obviously you can't survive out there so why keep struggling like fools.
How about population control so one race isn’t out birthing others, give jobs that pay well that help food and basic needs and energy restoration. And make housing affordable.
