One always takes the ones you love for granted.
To a lot of people, phone calls can often feel like a chore. Something to be avoided at all costs.
My dad, use to call me all the time, and have an hour long conversation about nothing. and I would sometimes try to avoid the calls. Now, I would give anything for him to talk my ear off about his work, or the dogs, or his most recent trip to the store.
The weeks after his passing, were filled woth phonecalls. A hundred "how are you"s. A thousand kind words. But my Dad's voice is now forever absent.
I wish that, somehow, he could tell me he'll call me later. And I wouldn't ignore the call.
