I try to repeat you by ear but you keep exceeding the 8 beats so my starting point is crossed with your ending and to listen and play at the same time is annoying. can you do a call and response with the 8 beats strictly? (this is the cause in all your videos and I am surprised nobody mentioned that)

I hear ya. However, if you listen to any real world call and response, there is usually a bleed over from one player to the next, even if the note is held and falls into your 8 beats. If it’s a dead cut off, it just doesn’t work well. I do understand it might be frustrating. But, if you count it and keep practicing the count, you will learn to feel your way through the beats. Then you won’t really need the dead cut to announce that it’s the other players turn. Keep going at it and remember to count and tap your foot when playing. Counting and playing at the same time is a very valuable skill..

Also, you don’t need to repeat what I play. Try adding you own licks in or mimic, in some form what I play.

Thanks for the reply and i did not mean it in a bad way. Reading it back it sounded a little harsh sorry for that. When i just play my own lick its not a problem. But i like to use these videos for ear training and stealing your licks kinda haha. Cheers Dan! Keep it up!

@@endlessbegin1350 No, I know. I thought I would try help as much as pos with the reply. Try the foot tap after you’ve learnt some of the licks. It will work and become extremely good fun.
