Usually when a band releases acoustic versions of their songs, it's crap. But when Amy Lee is your vocalist, the less instrumentation you've got, the better it gets.
that and when something is called an acoustic version, the main instrument is the acoustic cover. In this, it is the least used out of three instruments utilized. a good version, but not a mainly acoustic cover.
Correction: i reckon it IS 100 x better than the original. Shes such a talented woman. Vocals for days! You feel so much more of the initial emotion that fueled the lyrics, especially in this version of it.
I agree because you can actually hear her voice so clearly. I really like the original though... It's almost metal (like Bring Me To Life). But her voice somehow goes with the hard edge so well... Without her having to scream or get a rasp like others would do.
I heard someone said that her voice is like the Siren in Greek mythology, I thought that was the best description someone has ever described her singing voice majestic, captivating, stunning, and enchanting
Go listen to Maxwell- Woman's Work live,, EASILY the greatest live vocals I've ever heard. Amy Lee is one of my favorite vocalist of all time,, it doesn't compare to what that man does to that song. Please let me know if you listen to it. Interested to know your feedback
Her voice is so beautiful like an angel or goddess singing, she entrances people when she sings it's haunting, it's mind boggling how much talent she has.
@@angelrock4968 In acoustic performances where she is sitting down with her piano she almost always has great control. On stage it's usually a hit or miss though.
That's always been the problem with hard rock. More times than most, the vocalist is weak to average, so it's not the end of the world, but here, it's practically tragic.
I think its because she puts her emotions into her music.. You can tell shes not just singing it, shes putting all of her emotions into what she sings.
+Jeffery Woods You've got that *so* right, man! That's her real magic, as much as her vocals. She pours the totality of her heart, soul, and her emotion into her music. Perhaps even more so live. It's breathtaking.
Don't cry to me. If you loved me, You would be here with me. You want me, Come find me. Make up your mind. Should I let you fall? Lose it all? So maybe you can remember yourself. Can't keep believing, We're only deceiving ourselves . And I'm sick of the lie, And you're too late. Don't cry to me. If you loved me, You would be here with me. You want me, Come find me. Make up your mind. Couldn't take the blame. Sick with shame. Must be exhausting to lose your own game. Selfishly hated, No wonder you're jaded. You can't play the victim this time, And you're too late. Don't cry to me. If you loved me, You would be here with me. You want me, Come find me. Make up your mind. You never call me when you're sober. You only want it cause it's over, It's over. How could I have burned paradise? How could I - you were never mine. So don't cry to me. If you loved me, You would be here with me. Don't lie to me, Just get your things. I've made up your mind.
OK shes the poster girl for breaking wine glasses ,in this lifetime we will never hear another voice like this ''its beyond special and unique..its historic once in a century
wow...anyone that cant hear the passion and talent this woman brings to the table...just quit listening to music all together ...you obviously dont get it!...go Amy!
Amy's voice is absolutely amazing, especially when she does acoustic. When she's live, it's so hard to compete with the volume of the instruments and while jumping around to entertaining. Sometimes it's just too much to her. But when she's sitting down playing her piano, and it's more quiet she has more of an ability to make it sounds as beautiful as she can. I LOVE her!
Ironically enough, i remembered this song because the girl that showed ot to me and sang it to me just left me the way the song describes xD funny how that works.
+Sabrina Carbone jadethirlwall well, she is a true vocalist, she DOES sing her own songs, not like pop stars that most of them have to change the way they sing live...(caugh caugh.. autotune.. caugh caugh)
+Khotta Bogard I never said she wasn't and I know she doesn't use auto tune. . she is my favorite singer , my life ... i would never insult her ... and yeah I agree .. she's magic.
It's like, no matter what she sings, it sounds....what's the word....(bird XD) haunted. Haunted....like she is putting someone in a trance or something. Yet, I love it...idk.
More poignant than the original, but it still slays. I needed this for reinforcement today. Lyrics as powerful and perfect for my situation as they were when it first came out. Amy Lee is queen!
There's a button. Well not really a button, more of an interactive icon on the screen that looks like a 'Thumbs Down'. Any-hooo, they click on that, it glows blue and BOOM, you've let the world know you dislike it. But nobody cares. :D
Massive incredible talent!!!!....Why doesn't her peers get inspired by her??? There's not much out there these days...(Talent that is) ....I've been playing many different genres of Metal for the past 35+ yrs or so and Amy is one of those diamonds that sparkles ur soul... Thanx uploader and thank you Amy ;-)
Appreciation of an artist is one thing...but discounting all others is entirely unfair. Look up The Pretty Reckless, Halestorm, and P!nk for examples. They are incredible live, and the amount of passion they can put in a song is amazing.
One thing you have to keep in mind is the sound engineers and equipment people able to tune it correctly for her voice to shine as it does here. They got it right at this venue clearly. I promise you that most of the time she sings as well as she does here, it's just that the sound guys royally fuck up sometimes. Amy Lee is the greatest vocalist I've ever heard.
She's always been better just her and her piano. When you got drums and guitar riffs in the mix you are trying to keep in sync with them and hitting and projecting the notes perfectly.
@@bullridermusic2054 so true. I've heard ppl sing karaoke terribly at one venue and amazing at another. I noticed the bad performance had background music in a higher key and was much louder. The song needed a soft singing voice but she couldn't because you couldnt hear her. So she had to sing loud and in a key that was higher and she then couldn't reach the high notes. It's amazing how much impact the supporting music has on the vocals
Does anyone realize she does better in the acoustic versions without all the other music she's more relaxed and not so pressured to sing over the other instruments
I do not know another artist who can sing the same song hard and soft and make you fall in love with both.....Singing Soft or screaming it she sounds good how ever she sings! Love her...
All of any of the musical inspiration I have, all of the years i've been learning to sing better, its all been inspired around this hella amazing woman. she's been with me since I was about 8 years old and saw her perform 'Bring me to life' on Top of the Pops in 2003. I'll be 19 this year, and I still look up to this woman for inspiration and strength. Amy, thank you ^_^
