Call of Duty: Black Ops takes place during the 1960s in the Cold War, around 20 years after the events of World at War. It focuses on CIA clandestine black operations carried out behind enemy lines. Missions take place in various locations around the globe such as the Ural Mountains, Kazakhstan, Cuba, Hong Kong, Laos, South Vietnam, the Arctic circle and Siberia. The single-player campaign revolves around an experimental chemical weapon codenamed "Nova-6". This weapon is bound to be used by sleeper agents in the United States, who are infused with sequences of numbers, once broadcasts are transmitted from an unknown numbers station.

JFK knew about Element 115 since it's in the labs of the Pentagon and my guess is he knew about the zombies too along, McNamara probably was briefed on it but it was still classified until it happened, Castro likes fighting and doesn't question it, Nixon lost the debate but was invited to the meeting anyway, he probably had no idea about zombies let alone Element 115

Easily definitely one of the best Campaign stories of all time, but you can't forget what Black Ops 2 did with their story with being able to choose your own paths of who dies, and who sacrifices to either capture or kill Menendez! Definitely one the craziest roller coaster rides of a story! Although BO1 was based of off history, BO2 definitely shined with being able to deal with history both in the past and the future with Mason's son! BO2 has to be my most favorite story of all time! Due to the multiple endings you get that you did throughout the story.

The performances particularly by Sam Worthington and Ed Harris were absolutely brilliant. Their lines land so well. The delivery is uncommonly entertaining and satisfying, while still sounding REAL. It doesn't sound like acting. Genuinely brilliant. Honestly you don't see this caliber of acting in a lot of things let alone most games. @@ursa_margo Most likely because people find it confusing and nobody understands it. Black ops 3 also didn't continue Black ops 2's story so it leaves a false impression that Black Ops 3 is going to continue the Black ops story line. Sure there are some nods to the previous games but there is little to no events from Black ops 1 and 2 that lead to Black ops 3. You can argue that Nova 6 makes a return and kills about 300,000 civilians in Singapore and kills Kane but that's the only thing we see it do and it never does anything ever again. So what was the point of bringing Nova 6 into Black ops 3 if it only shows up and kills Kane? I am pretty sure there are better ways to present Nova 6.

This game had a phenomenal story. The historical locations, unique time period, and interesting characters made this one of my all time favorite video games and a momento of my childhood. That's what Teyarch got wrong with Cold War. They half-assed the story to continue in multiplayer and in a over-rated battle royale. There was hardly any emotion or drive to make a game similar to the source material. I'm not saying that there wasn't ANY callbacks to the original, but the story was linked by a tread to the others. I just hope that Treyarch stops making self-insert protagonists and puts us back in the boots of Mason. AND STOP DRAGGING A STORY THROUGH A BATTLEROYALE.

Agreed But in my opinion they degraded in BO2 The campaign in the first one was so much superior That you know it However in Cold War They tried to make it like Bo1 but it couldn’t be just like the first one

OR-IS-HE-DEAD-THERE-WAS-WHO-NO-BODY-IS-NOT-HESAYS-HE-IS. Edit: The end code when applied to an alphabet number code reads. Ascension-GONLVA/EOASGYF/MFGON/KXKAG/STJN/BCSHKVUEQ No clue what it means though.

Rez sabotaged some of it you never know for sure if he got rid of it. even after leaving Vorkuta Mason pictures himself aiming a gun at Kennedy in the Pentagon and sees visions of his funeral on the screens. The ending fight scene with Dragovich: "Tried?????" and he says it ominously as if Mason doesnt understand how deep he really is. This all points to, and the ending timestamped scene of the original comment, to Mason Killing JFK(in this universe). The broadcaster of this particular order was the girl who eyes him entering the pentagon with the Cigarrette earlier in the campaign. There is also a "two gunman theory" about the JFK Assassination in real life. Treyarch took this theory ran with it and implied in the very last cutscene that Mason was the "2nd gunman" So i would say ya... Treyarch told us Mason killed JFK

Reznov!! Why must you die! Reznov would have been a great companion to mason through the game. But if he didnt die the game wouldn’t be complete since most cod games are shooting, friendship and sadness. This is probably the best in the cod series. Kudos to the developers and the people who help with this game

I love this game. The best Call of Duty and multiplayer ever. Black Ops sequels looks nothing like this game 😒 Stupid the futuristic, robot, exo-jump and BO3 campaign looks wtf weird. Black Ops 4 looks lame. If they make Black Ops 5, I won’t buy Black Ops 5. What’s wrong with Treyarch? I wish they make Black Ops true sequel same first game. Fuck futuristic!
