My biggest problem with the game is that the main protagonist this time around is a nameless joe nobody is going to remember and then the multiplayer has you playing actual characters rather than your own personal soldier. Litterally everything about the campaign might've been improved if only I gave a single shit who "Player" was. Additionally, I forgot I was even playing a Black Ops game until the antagonist from the last game was brought up in the middle of a mission and I could've swore his name was familiar somehow. What was the point in making this game part of the Blops series?

Melendez caused technology to be more powerful and capable. Plus they shoe horned the nova 6 gas . Tbh it could technically stand on its own but it shares the mindfuckery moments like the other black ops game have. Just move on

For me, the campaign of this one was the most predictable and I couldn't even finish the story after about 9-10 missions. I was able to predict everything right before it happened.
So, you played Call of Duty for the story, and were let down. Well, I'm sorry to have to be the one to tell you this, but I think you might be a bit dumb. Not much, just a bit. Like the routinely forgetting where you put your slippers kind of dumb. Entirely manageable, just stay out of politics.

For all one can know from his message, he actually quite enjoyed the multiplayer, but wanted to just voice his opinion on the story. I'm afraid you're going to have to re-evaluate your judgement of his IQ. I would recommend looking in the mirror and re-evaluating your own first.

It may not seem like it because we are surrounded by like minded individuals, but a minority nonetheless. When they tried to spice things up with Advanced Warfare everyone got all pissy because of the jetpacks and laser guns and stuff. Release a game like Ghosts and everyone got all pissy because it was more of the same. And while we are on the subject of Fallout 4 it really bothers me that games like Assassins Creed get shit on for being broken at release, but Fallout 4 gets a free pass because its a Bethesda game. Why should they get a free pass. Ship a broken game on launch and suffer the backlash like everyone else.
I found this review funny...now with the relevent stuff out of the way, I would like to say that I'd like to see a review of...Undertale. I am not honestly interested in Fallout 4 as people have been either "OMG IT IS GOD" or "Meh." and I already know that there is an article on Yatzhee's opinions on Undertale, I would love a review. The reason for this is mainly because I can only imagine all the hilarious jokes he could write about it.

I really enjoy the Call Of Duty series, I started playing at Black Ops 2 and have enjoyed all of the releases since then. The way I see it is that the games are not the best thing ever but they are enjoyable and fun. I am thankful that I get a new campaign to play through every year and even though the gameplay stays pretty much the same I still enjoy playing it and it does offer different experiences. I always enjoy the plot and they're often deeper than people expect. In the end people always complain that they are releasing the same game every year but that is exactly what I want. Each year I know I can count on a new Call Of Duty that I will enjoy. I don't want them to change up the formula very much because I don't want the games becoming too tactical, stealthy, or anything like that. Just give me the same fun twitch shooting and standard campaign and I will be happy :)
Love Yahtzee but i wish there were more of his videos. I have watched all 400+ of his ZP videos at least twice(some over 10 times) and it sucks having to wait for his new game reviews for so long(yeah i know on the site the are posted earlier-not the point and "Judging by the cover" are quite boring, sorry). Would love to see Yahtzee review something other than games. Yahtzee how about ZP style reviews of movies and/or TV Shows? After all average movie is only 1.5 hours long as opposed to average of 6 hours of games. Since i am quite sure ZP is Escapist's biggest source of revenue- perhaps they could hire a larger team for Yahtzee's animation studio so he could put out more videos overall? Who else thinks its a good idea for him to go ZP on other forms of entertainment?

It seems... weird to me that every female character in every game gets criticized harshly. Too friendly, too female, too male, too snarky, trying too hard to make them likable, too sexy, not sexy enough, etc etc etc. I just... wow. I don't know what people expect from game devs, but maybe they should just not include women at all?
And here's the review a CoD player would give it: "I liked it. It was fun and in HD. I hope my friends buy it so we can play online. I only do the online anyway."

I beat this game on the Realistic difficulty, where you basically die in one shot (sometimes 2, if you're lucky), and let me just tell you, it takes a lot of careful planning and knowing what abilities to use in order to progress that made it one of the more challenging CoD campaigns for me. Sometimes it got to the point where they felt impossible and very bullshity, but at the end of the day it was manageable and getting the achievement felt very satisfying.

Surprisingly great game, the campaign is split screen and can be played with 4 people online; it plays a bit like Borderlands with the shooting and multiple powers. Also the levels are large and have multiple paths throughout. Easily the best COD campaign.
I spent most of the game assuming I was fighting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. I feel that added to the experience rather than subtracting from it.

I enjoyed the new one too. Solid and fluid FPS shooter. Sorry wasn't so good though (especially at the end), and the multiplayer lobbies died way too quickly.

Why is Yhatzee so intent on reminding us Call of Duty is about "burly white men" and always tries to implement white guilt in our heads because other races are "so underrepresented"? It's not going to work, Yhatzee, no matter how many times you say "Boo white Americans" and "Yay, everyone else."
Perhaps it's a way to prove a point, just like anybody else can laugh at it even though they're white and don't feel any colour of guilt while laughing. Or getting some people to think about the way stereotypes are still being sold to 12-year-olds consistently FPS after FPS after FPS. There's even place to suggest how the projection concept works on streamlined mainstream games across the gamer spectrum or, more properly, how these companies look at their target demographic (and how these companies are seen by their non-target demographic).
I forgot about the "cyber powers" and just went through the entire game with a sniper from about 2 feet away from the enemy on a controller when I play everything on PC. I made the game way harder than it should have been.
Here is my idea for a FPS game, I dont know if anyone else has tried this but here are a few thoughts. Take the call of duty game play , google earth and some sort of A.I. component to fill in the gaps and have a world wide multiplayer. You could select entire neighborhoods, an entire city (depending on computer limitations) or anywhere google street view has photographed. Think about the endless possibilities. The reason i bring up the A.I. component is some sort of default that can make all the houses ( if a neighborhood is to be the battle ground) accessible . Or some sort of custom forge system to make things easier. Game developers wouldnt have to develop levels from scratch and try to make them look real, this shit is the real deal. It would be the revival of the Call Of Duty franchise and opening the door to a future of EPIC gaming. Somebody get this Idea into the hands of the right people. It would be an FPS revolution. As I said, Im not sure if this has been tried, I just thought it up .
It's a shame Yahtzee will never re-review the story. It had a more Dark Souls way of storytelling this time. And that's why you would be forgiven for writing it off - COD doesn't do that way of storytelling
The plot in this game is actually pretty interesting, at least to me. Only problem is, the really interesting part starts at the fucking bombshell they drop at the end, and you only figure out what it means by looking at the LOADING SCREENS of each level, along with various subtle things throughout the campaign. And even then, the big twist? You were Bruce Willis the whole time.
What he said about the player character speaking through a used tea bag is 100% true it sounds so muffled like he recorded his lines with his nokia on the toilet then emailed them to Activision and they were just like "ah screw it, if the players complain enough we'll just get Nolan North to redub the dialogue"
