If I was the head leader of Sledgehammer, I would've chosen a COD storyline to take place where soldiers would go back/forward in time and cause paradoxes. Honestly you've just inspired me.
@@hugehoglilnuts2905 bro I do not care about realism in cod that's not why I play the games, that doesn't mean I'm braindead, in fact I'm a huge gun nerd but I'm aware that cod was never a realistic game series and therefore I don't call the game bad if it's not getting gun logic correct.
@@tripplesix8459 2:16: Nobody mentioned this one, but the grip is wayyyy too close to the trigger. I'm surprised the soldier is able to squeeze his hand between the space.
Okay, whoever did the machine gun animations (especially the MG42) for Vanguard absolutely deserves praise because those all appear to be in a grade of quality above the majority of the other weapons. There are a lot of complicated hand movements just animated buttery smooth. I also think the bolt action rifles were notably good (minus the 5 round Lee Enfield quirk), and I'm impressed that the animations take into account how many bullets you can push into the magazine from the stripper clips if the rifle is only partially empty. Awesome attention to detail there.
@@Pariatech That's because tZ is looking straight up, if I had to guess. The physics of the belts get wonky with that. Watch other reload comps and they all generally look up too and have the same issue.
@@math_hammer no its different just check mw reload and the mg34 has different reload (example: mw use charging handle first and vanguard use it for the last)
The sound design really bugs me. It sounds like they had the foley artist just mess around with a box of metal parts rather than recording actual firearms. There's very little contrast in the range of effects, it's just like a bunch of chaotic metal crunching.
@@Blank-js3zt but the later updates aren't even trying. The kiparis always made my blood boil just looking at it I am fine with the initial release, seeing it as a rushed game.
I love how when you tactically reload the snipers your character keeps the exact among of bullets that isn't inserted into the gun. Great attention to detail.
Was this actual practice, though? Partial loads with stripper clips feels a bit awkward and prone to failure. Loading loose rounds seems more practical, but i have no experience to corroborate that.
@@TugaAvenger you are totally right, but i think these times you was only able to carry clips (organization and compacting reasons), no separated ammo So... if you only have clips and you can't loose time during a battle, your best option is use the clip instead of take out the ammo from them
Same thing happened in COD WW2, however it was added after its first event update so we could expect it in its first season or later on, time will tell. Edit: Would be a shame if it doesn't get added in Vanguard, would love to see how cursed it can get.
@@LonelyFlapp I have the feeling they'll go a similar route with DLC, like they did with Cold War and Modern Warfare. I think for secondaries, they won't plan on adding many more sidearms or launchers. Main focus will probably be rifles, submachine guns and melee. Which I really do hope they try to double down on the DLC this year, I don't plan on getting the game until its half off, but WW2 had some nifty weapons. I can imagine they'd want to get a few more of the DLC from the past game in, but focus on some other weapons we didn't see. I'd be amiss if they didn't add the Lewis, Toggle Action and Springfield. I can see if they do plan on adding the P38 it'd have some sort of burst fire attachment for it. As well if they do add the Nambu, to have the full set of WaW pistols, it'd have a full auto attachment to compete with the M712. That's been a pretty standard thing with CoD, everything has to have a gimmick unless its a full auto rifle, or machine gun. But really hoping the first season provides 3 weapons in the battle pass rather 2. Plus a melee weapon or something to unlock via challenge. Atleast get some of the classics in, before season 2 starts. I'm lowkey looking forward to playing around with the Vanguard weapons in Warzone, but I'm certainly not ready to level them up.
@@wxl2562 Well, Modern Warfare added two pistols on their run, the Renetti is Season 3 and the Sykov during Cold War season 2 (I believe?) We should safely expect at least one pistol being added at the very least. Edit: Also Cold War added the Amp63 machine pistol and the Marshal pistol which is a double barrel sawed off. Edit 2: Welrod would be an excellent choice considering the RW1 pistol from Advanced Warfare was one shot one kill in a close range in the chest.
@@LonelyFlapp first of all, MW19 has more pistols at launch comparing to 2 later games. And second, Welrod actually have 5 rounds of subsonic .32 ACP rounds, whilst AW'S RW1 is a single shot railgun pistol (same type as the MORS).
@@v12ts.gaming I can accept inaccuracies from an old game same goes with a second mistake but the third?Well that's different Edit: On second thought,to hell with the inaccuracy but at least get the model right
It's good that they've innovated in the gunsmith department, but a WW2 game ain't the place to do that. Cold War had STANAG for everything, and this has silly caliber conversions
I'm pretty sure it's a necessity for the Warzone integration. Also, it's blasphemous, but that's kind of the only reason I want this game - gunsmithing cursed WWII guns.
@@danilosiviero4848 I mean, its apparent that the next game will MW'22, can't really mess up with a Modern Warfare game. Especially seeing how it'll have to take place more toward the future, looking at BO2 (set in the 2020s, which we're now living in) - I think they could get away with some 'futuristic' and high-tech attachments on top of the standard mil-sim attachments, mods and kits you see. I couldn't care less if its a "modern war" game, if its an alternate-reality shooter taking place within' this generation, I wouldn't mind some crazy stuff like the Tracker Sight, Target Finder, MMS (see-through walls sight) and some other whacky shit, like the Parabolic Microphone that allowed you to see suppressed fire, the Bullet Tracker that tagged enemies on the mini-map that you didn't kill - but only for you. Things like that, that we only saw in games like BO2, AW and Ghosts.
@@ringoferrer2343 I'm honestly all for an Advanced Warfare prequel, with the pick-five attachments by default system. Especially with the cool things Sledgehammer came up with that game. They could easily take inspiration from Infinite Warfare as well, which had some pretty cool weapons as well gear, like the Cryo Grenade, the Bubble Shield, laser guns and all that jazz. Stuff straight out of Star Wars. I'd honestly pay money to see what whacky shit I could do to the BAL27 in 4K.
I'm very sure it will be added on MP through seasons. I mean, in Cold War, the Deagle Hand Cannon was campaign-only before (specifically in the Lubyanka mission), and in S4, it was added as a Scorestreak.
I think they rehire the crew who make cod ww2 reload animations, who keep reusing the same sounds over and over again, and these guns sounds so unrealistic making me feel like they're using toy guns, especially if comparing these animations to MW's
8:16 since the Kar98k was based on the WWI Era Gewehr 98, i can qualify to tell that a mag fed Gewehr 98 do exist called the Gewehr Trench Magazine. After all, you can convert your base Kar98k into a Gewehr 98 thru Gunsmith. 7:43 a 10-round mag fed Mosin Nagant do exist, however it was TOO anachronistic to be existed irl, and NOT Chambered in .30-06! 11:20 reloadable Panzerfaust do exist, however it was a patented prototype called the Panzerfaust 250. Unlike other Pzf's, it has a pointed cone warhead and a forward hand grip. SHG most likely use that variant as a reference to make its normal Pzf reloadable where it shouldn't have been irl.
@@Lelelelel709 I would say BFV’s sound effects are more superior than CoD Vanguard’s sound effects as it feels more alive and really packs a punch, historical accuracy in both games though…
It is such a tiny detail, but at 2:13, the soldier is arming both hammers as he's going through the other motions of the reload. It's super fast and subtle, but that's amazing.
Yeah the 1891/30 doesn't have fancy features like clips that get kicked out when you close the bolt also under no circumstances would a unscoped 1891 have a bent bolt I guess unless you took the scope off of an existing one but that is not something anybody would do
I love how the shells from the double barrel shotgun obviously haven’t been fired when he takes them out. Not to mention that they shouldn’t need to be removed manually at all and that they have no texture
@@rashmikalia1304 the T20 is an experimental M1 Garand that is modified to accept 20-round BAR Magazine. COD Vanguard do have a regular box mag for the Garand, however it also has a drum mag, which in reality, it doesn't exist, so it's considered cursed.
Really like a lot of the reload animations this time around. Love how they actually got the bolt-action reloads correct this time compared to WW2. Annoyed that the P08 is called the “Klauser” though. How much do you have to pay to license a 100+ year old gun name?
@@TugaAvenger It’s just weird to me because a big chunk of the other guns use their name or close to their name and the P08 has been in CoD and Battlefield plenty of times as the P08. Not used to it being one of the unlicensed guns.
Nothing against the creator or the vid but I feel ill just watching this, hell what now, a gravity knife with extended blade?, a bayonet with explive tip?.
Can we all agree Modern Warfare set the bar too high in terms of weapon reload and animations and feel of the gun. The only game that can now beat Modern Warfare is Modern Warfare 2 in terms of attention to detail.
To be completely honest I don’t mind WW2/Vanguard sounds but admittedly it is quite lazy that they reuse the sounds from WW2 but despite all of that I really don’t mind the sounds but I can understand why people really don’t like the sounds same thing goes with the game to. I could get a lot of hate from saying this but personally I don’t mind Vanguard but yes I can fully.fully understand why people don’t like the game I completely understand it’s just my opinion
Panzer Faust reloading? I swear to God I'm gonna tie a noose around my neck if the devs doesn't fix this also the C96 was reloaded from the top by a stripper clip not a magazine, the carbine version is just an extended magazine size for more ammo
Why is the P08 called the Klauser? Pretty sure Luger isn't under any copyrights at this time and the MkVI Webley called the top action? Like are the devs of these cod games ignorant?
Well, fair point, but this isn't the far future past WW2. This is in a timeline where it's still at the times of WW2, but the Nazi's is winning, from what I remember. So not that much gun technology would be fully altered, unless it was Wolfenstien.
@@Oyebadumn Alot of "What If" fiction just focus on that one point that make the biggest change (like in this case what if the Nazi win), but rarely they care about the massive butterfly effect before that which lead to that massive deviation in history. So alot of smaller detail must had been change before even the WW1 for all this to even happen.
I think a big problem with Vanguard is SH's reputation prior. When CoD WW2 was being marketed, SH decided to market it as super historically accurate. Once game squirted out of Activision, everyone had a few choice words. I haven't seen the marketing for Vanguard yet, but if they pulled the same nonsense as WW2, yea, i can see an issue arising. This is just my opinion tho.
I think of this game like if it was an airsoft match played by spec ops guys that handle their guns as modern operators, flicking, reloading tactically and using unrealistic attachements
Idk if that even matters anymore. I genuinely don’t see why ppl are getting so triggered. They gotta integrate it into war zone, and it isn’t really even “ww2” anymore. So for me it makes sense the guns are more Cold War and less world war Besides, we know that cod can’t make a realistic cod game to save their skins. Mw2019 actually came close but… eh nah
2:16, hes taking out one shell (which means it was fired once) HOWEVER, theres no small black dot to indicate its been fired. In MW, u can see the dot. Its so sad how they stopped putting effort into their games
better than the videos of M4sked. And M4sked, STOP STALKING ME! do you have better things to than than goign on any weapon videos and answering the same stupid "ok and" over and over to a dude who doin't even watch your videos? we are on the internet we have the right to criticize someone! get a life!
Isn’t the sniper variant of the Type 99 supposed to have a bent bolt handle? If Sledgehammer had bent the bolt, they wouldn’t have to mount the scope so far forward
Okay, the reload animations are really good, almost modern warfare good, but it's the sound design and historical inaccuracies that annoy me the most about vanguard
Uhm you can actually reload panzerfraust but only for Panzerfraust 250 model So yeah even it’s so cursed and make my eyes got burned it’s actually real
Oh a WW2 game! I hope the weapon choices were in service and at least mostly historically accurate. *sees an m1 garand with a dum mag* ..haha yes, sledgehammer, you are banging our history.
This is a arcade game, and most of fictional weapon mods in this game are for gameplay purposes, for example about m1 garand with 7 ammo, now it can turn to a m14 with the fictional modding that brings possibility to put a mag on it etc etc. Realism is not the focus If you want realism, go play day of defeat or hell let loose in witch on both there's no fictional weapon modding
@@RM50507 A drum fed M1 i can justify but a magazine a REVOLVING shotgun is not gonna past my book. Cod was never about realism but god have they make curse shit with this cod game.
@@spookyengie735 revolving shotgun with mag is hella cursed, the most cursed fictional modding i ever saw in a fps, it's too much stupid... and very unnecessary, no matter if putting mag is a way of speedloading a revolving shootgun
@@RM50507 yeah its def fucked. The rest im ok with as the devs specifically stated this is an alt-history ww2 game. But even in alt-history, the guns should at least be able to function.
@@dr._breens_beard the problem with alt-history is that if gun design was altered/butchered this badly then none of these guns would exists as they are. If they wanted a drum fed M1 Garand they would have designed it completely around that function. If they wanted a drum fed shotgun they wouldn't use a revolving shotgun but instead completely design the gun around a magazine/drum mag. If they came up with unique gun designs that look similar to real world counter parts but are designed around having a magazine I would have been fine with it. Instead they took beloved real world guns, hacked at them with a saw butchered their form and function and called it a day.
Seeing a mag fed Garand made my eyeballs melt due to how cursed it is. Seriously, mag fed Garand PROTOTYPES were developed AFTER THE WAR, and weren't adopted until 1957 as the M14!
