The runes in game are parts of the whole not an entire one. At the very least you'll need all the runes in a color for a single true rune (and potentially much more) Also most Darkins/Aspects/Ascended/Demons/Freljordian Demigods/Voidmonsters could level a city in lore too.

I always considered Ryze a Big lore character... Now i consider him the Main character of league of legends. Hes always there during a major event, fighting alongside other champions.
considering runes are part of the world, if not the world itself, him seeking these runes to seal from mortal hands for centuries already, he's either main character or second main character that does the heavy load in background. I mean... he's literally the reason why the world still exists as simple fragments of the runes posses so much power that leveling a city is just like slapping a fly.(tho i think fragments aren't that powerful, it's the full runes that has such power)
I wonder if this was/still is cannon though... especially with all their new cannon lore development and story progression through Legends of Runeterra and etc. I’m very hype for this expanding world and many stories to come!
@@thetillter2228 It should be canon. All of those places and people in those places exist and would do as they have done. The thing about Ryze is that he, alongside a few other champions, can have a really expansive lore with many stories and cinematics. But Riot don't want to commit that much into one champion and so they gave us this cinematic to show his struggle of finding the runes.
its not the same runes; the ingame runes are separate from the lore. these runes are called world runes, and are some of the most powerful things in the universe
Id say it's a tough fight between ryze and pantheon. One tries to keep the world balanced and the other to change it by toppling tyrants that have encroached themselves into humanity for aeons
2:20 Heimerdinger was there when this happened. This is the catastrophe that traumatized him in the new Arcane series. The orange energy in this scene matches the energy from his memories.
it's maybe not any more something potential. we saw ryze playing with runes when jayce was a kid. It wouldn't make sense to add this part if they had not a greater picture in mind. I am now really looking forward to seeing more of their series projects
Well. Exactly how he is played as procaster mage. Hit with a combo and run for your life till cooldown is off till old good tanky doggo keep bonking damaged enemy to death if you didn't do last hit. Ahri or Veigar or Nikko works rather the same.

I would definitely support League to make a full animated series with seasons and episodes or movie Update 19/11/2021: Watching Arcane as of now - wishes do come true. Also love the whole art style of Arcane. It makes me feel like the splash arts in all the lores and everything felt so recognisable yet so new. I especially love the music, the score - it's no secret that if Riot were a music company, nobody would even bat an eye with the bangers they release every year. Everything in the series was so catered to the scene that no music ever felt like it took me out of the moment. Not to mention, the theme is GREAT. It has SUCH a Riot and League touch to it, I just cannot explain how much joy and nostalgia it gives me. What a wonderful time to be alive.
@@thehughmeister7093 And I know this is two months old, but Nunu and Willump are holding inspiration in the lore, which is why nunu's imagination is his kinda power, because thats the world rune willump was guarding when nunu found him

Dunno why they have such a hard time making him effective. At this point he is fated to forever be in the "kinda okay" category for mid picks. His burst is insane, yes but his mobility and sustain are so pathetic that if his burst fails to kill his target, he is done for. Extremely susceptible to ganks. His ult is so situational that you can go entire matches without having a good reason to use it. Poor Ryze. One of the strongest mages in the lore, but just kinda "meh" in the game proper.
but other than the person you might refere to, Ryze wants to lock the power away from the world, to prevent its missuse, as he has seen many times what distruction it may cause
In the end the runes present there was Orange: shard of reverence Purple: shard of madness Green: shard of betrayal Red: shard of violence The only shard that is missing is blue: shard of hope I wonder why shard of hope is missing there
I once heard something about Nunu having the shard in his flute. Explaining why he is such a powerful mage without doing anything, just by imagining things. But I don't remember where I heard this though so don't treat this as facts.
5:07 The runes we're familiar with in game: Resolve - Green Precision - Yellow Domination - Red Inspiration - Missing Sorcery - Purple And many more runes we have yet to discover.
Nunu rework lore involves nunu fusing with a blue gem - possibly the inspiration rune because inspiration is blue and the 'blue gem' lets nunu's imagination coming to life
The narration team just jump to Ruination like *bruh* ... I hope they will connect the World Runes and Ruination against all the champions of Valoran/ or other places of the Runeterra continent(which i think it is very deep to explore the story)

Ryze 200th Rework Confirmed. This time his ult is to say all this long monolog, but never say Scroll or Rune, that will break the mind of the enemy and Instantly eliminate him.
Ryze could be the main reason of Heimerdinger's PTSD... could he be the culprit of the devastation 300 something years ago (in the lore), because I noticed that in Arcane he kept on having flashbacks of a devastation from what I assume is a single mage, and from Ryze's memory as well. does anyone else think the same?
@@zakuuu8216 Yeah you are right. But some people speculate that time in yordle town is not the same as outside of it so he could have witnessed it. I'm not sur it was the rune wars anymore though.
@@schrodingersgunna6390 I think Samuel's expecting Ryze to show up because Viktor's creating something like Runestones. Personally, I doubt it. One of the strengths of Arcane's storytelling is the grounded stakes of it's setting; having Ryze show up doesn't really add to or help that. Also, just because the magic swirls of the hexcore are reminiscent of the Runestones doesn't mean it's the same caliber of power.

I didn’t even realize that’s what they were. The runes we use in game are the same runes that started the Rune Wars. How did I never make that connection.

Back then I thought letting go was was a weakness and one should gain more to be successful and be happy, fast forward today I realized that you don't need a lot to be happy and I finally understand the more you let go and give, the more you will be happy and enjoy the scenery of life. It's meant to be given not taken. I learned this the hard way. Looking back I thought this video was useless and common. Looking now, I realized Ryze endured a hardship and overcame the challenges of life and I could relate. Glad I made it through I'm resting for now, and another challenge of life awaits again.
If he were to use the runes, he’d be a top five most powerful entity in the lore. Up there with Asol and mordekaiser, makes the ascended look like foot soldiers.
Idk about ascended warriors remember they were the ones who stop and halted the void from truly coming to runeterra literally an aspect could do to stop these corrupted ascended warriors was to seal them in weapon yet they still exhibit huge amounts of power
don’t know how but icasia manged to summon the whole void in their country every single void champion we know was summoned there and the ascended still won the battle with only 2/3of their army
SatanSama It's a forest made of patricite, pretty sure the leaves, trees and everything else is made of it. Patricite being magic absorbing rock. But that would also explain how Ryze is called to powerful, being able to use his magic even under those conditions
