Call of the Wild: The Angler - Worth the Money? (Review and Thoughts) 

Exactly my thoughts. People kept asking if they was going to add fishing to hunter, as it would have been fun along with the hunting, but not as a stand alone game.

spot on..!! Shame how they buy off some semi big streamers aswell, to sit and praise their game, while you can clearly see they are in pain.. Money that would have been better spend, on more development, before putting out an "alpha like" sorry excuse of a game..

@@thorhauge86 truly a shame. Bad practice by the streamer to not disclose their leanings to the audience as well. The gaming industry is in such a poor state and only getting worse…

Flinter hasn't made it a secret that he's an EW partner creator or whatever they call it. There's nothing wrong with that, but he can't risk damaging that relationship. If you want an unbiased review of an EW product, you shouldn't look to him, or Jaxybeard, or any other EW partner.

While I agree Zaggi is always very honest and that is a very good thing! It cost him his relationship with EW. I'm not sure he cares? but surely having a good relationship with devs does help these content creators. I don't like EW but anyone who goes on there socials knows how quick they will ban you for talking about certain things. They are a shady dev team that hates negativity and unfortunately for someone like Flinter his job and channel is playing mainly EW games. His channel is big for just mainly playing the 1 game. I watched his review and didn't think he was being a kiss ass. He gave his opinion and said some positive and negative things but in a nice way. He said its very limited and very arcade and he doesn't see much replay ability in it for him long term. I felt he spent more time talking about changes he would like to see made. While I agree honesty is always the best policy, when it comes to a Job/company often you need to do a little kiss arsing to your partners. Flinter more than likely makes a lot of money every month and having early access allows his channel to grow quicker. I don't blame the guy for not throwing that opportunity away.

Flinter has no backbone. He knows the game is rubbish but doesn't want to jeopardise his relationship with EW. He's done the same with all of the botched hunter updates throughout the years as well. It is completely disingenuous.

I had high hopes they'd remove existing bugs and make the game great yet all they did is release DLC after DLC and each of them introduced 20 new bugs while only removing 10 old ones. When they screwed up the red deers voices and gave them elk sounds it took them almost a year to fix it. I put the game aside for half a year - nothing changed. Did it again and by coincidence they removed a few bugs that I was adamant about needing a fix which lead to me buying all DLCs I missed in the meantime - after a short time I realized that nothing changed at all. They stopped all work on the pc-version multiple times due to other projects.... 2019 I left the game for good. Reinstalled a couple of times and always after 20 minutes I just quit.

Yeah, the environment is beautiful but the actual fishing is horrendous. They marketed the game, emphasizing that it’s open world and that you can play with your friends. That’s all they really cared about. The actual fishing is just terrible. In most situations you don’t need to worry about changing lures, lure sizes or lure colors. If you see a fish in the water, it’s probably going to bite your lure. And as a Catfishermen myself, I really bothers me that their preferred bait is barley and dough 🤦🏻‍♂️.

@@600f4 I thought I saw some of the devs with fishing pictures in some of their diaries or whatever. It’s clear to me that they’ve never fished before considering you can catch a 6 inch perch on a massive spinner bait.

I agree that It’s a relaxing game, but the fishing is too arcady

no way they could - too few lakes, too small - they have serious difficulties in dealing with 15 game species... would you add also 10 fish species?

@@jb.fishing I guess you got me there, but to be fair, butch brown fished in so-cal, Texas, and Florida lakes with $100 dollar swimbaits before anybody knew what a swimbait was, those 10lbers in 2008 had never seen 12 inch trout swimbaits before

Still doesn't make what he did any less impressive though, I think he's at around 1,700 - 1,800 DDs right now

@@jb.fishing I'm in ohio so the biggest one I've seen was my friends 7lber and my pb is 5lbs on the dot. The biggest one I've ever heard of around here was 10.5 lbs out of a managed private pond that costs around $200 to fish for a day.

I haven’t spent a dime in the years I’ve had it, it’s just better and more fun to play with friends
