Più della perfezione non c'è... Registrazione che molti ritengono come definitiva di questa meravigliosa opera di arte di Mascagni. Callas e Di Stefano...lei immensa e lui essendo siciliano riesce ad esprimersi in un modo come nessun altro nella "Siciliana" (Oh Lola). Due alieni scesi in terra che ci hanno dimostrato ch'è possibile come essere umani riaggungere le stelle...! Grazie per condividere e grazie alla Musica che farà che la vita sia valsa la pena!!!

Callas voice was at its finest her,. but she was also a magnificent actress, who always brought her character to life. Listen to her Carmen, for me the definitive performance. RIchard

Callas didn't have to bare her entire bosom to convey sexuality, as so many singers of Carmen do today. Her voice and her acting transformed her into the seductress par excellence of Seville.

I wish the entire opera could have been presented. I performed in two separate productions of the opera. I never tire of listening to it whenever I have the chance.

The tragedy is that both Lola and Turridu are as guilty as Santuzza but she is the only one deemed guilty by the church. No wonder she was so strongly motivated by that rage that she could betray Turridu by telling Alfio about him and Lola.
