Callaway APEX Iron Review 

Thanks for this video. Wedge question: With full shots, my 48* Cleveland CBX (steel shaft 115g) goes consistently 5-10 yards longer than my 48* Callaway Ai200 (graphite shaft 75 g regular). Is this due to shaft or club head? What do you think?

Great review. I am not sure if I am at the point of upgrading. Early 60's, back to golfing for 3 years and my current make-up is Mavrik Max with Senior Flex, but feel the Catalyst are too light. I also had them shortened 1/2" (height 5'7", wrist 33"), but thinking I should have been fitted to see if I just needed lie angle instead of shortening. What I like about the Apex are that they aren't too far off from Mavrik Max's strength. I am hitting 7 in 140's and hope to get up to 150 for it (White tees around 5900-6100 course length comfortable for me). Improving and wonder if I should get fitted and irons shafts updated to steel or wait and get new set. Ideally, I would like to continue to work on strike to get more distance currently.

This is the best review I've seen in a long time. Haven't played Callaway irons in a long time(S2H2)! My 66th birthday is in 2 weeks and I'm overdue for a new set of irons. Any thoughts on a blended set?...and thank you so much for the great content!

I just received my AI 200’s with the 80gm regular flex graphite and played three rounds. Not a fan of the graphite shaft. Feels boardy to me. I play the AI smokes with a 95gm elevate steel shaft and get the desired height with that setup. I have a relatively slow swing speed of 72 mph and I am thinking of switching to the Ai 300’s with the Cypher 2.0 60 shafts or the Elevate 95’s again. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I’ve been testing the ai200 with the dg mid 115. I’m liking the indoor numbers and feel of the shaft. I’m a pretty steep swinger w some above average speed. I’ve really noticed a consistent spin window with these at around 6000 w no flyers. Have you hit the new pxg irons gen 7 irons? I’m between the two and getting fittings. Good review !
