The Dance of Seeds. The Germination of Knowledge.
This is one of four videos resulting from an award-winning artistic commission of the art & science collaboration call titled "Sprouting between science and art: Seeds as resilient pillars of healthy and sustainable food of the past, present and future".
This video is part of the art exhibition produced within the Daniel Carasso Fellowship research project "Seed wars go digital: sustainability, big data and the social movement for open source seed systems", led by Dr. Raquel Ajates (UNED), and funded by the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation and UNED, in collaboration with the Museu Terra of the Carulla Foundation and Red Planea de Arte y Escuela.
The video has been coordinated by the Associació de Varietats Locals (AVL), an organisation that works on the recovery, conservation and multiplication of local varieties in Mallorca, as well as their associated biocultural memory. For some years now, the AVL has been disseminating its work through different multimedia materials, such as videos, posters, catalogues, educational materials and textile materials.
The interactive material of this artwork has been created by Enric Socias (transmedia artist), who has filmed and edited the video, the illustrations are by Nívola Uyà (visual artist) and Lluís Vidaña, who has created the scenography and graphic design (visual artist).
