Always wanted this to happen! On the logistics side with order numbers too, you can always set a pre-order window for anyone getting wholesale pricing and lock in exactly how many items will be leaving the warehouse at a reduced rate. Then just order your retail on top of that to reduce risk of undercutting retail profits :)
Yeah so thankfully, the software i'm using to set this up on the back end of our store, combined with the way we produce stuff in house makes this super straight forward.

In terms of funding your project, I’ve always used GFM to fund my films but I would say you have to be on it every day pushing it and reaching out to people to gain some money, which can be quite fun. Because you’re not offering incentives to get people to donate, you could make them all a producer or offer them the project for free. I hope this helps.
