That just sounded like the flagpole to me. It’s weird, this unit is tied in to the Darley on the other side of town by telephone relay, and the radio is located at this unit, so it should’ve gone off.
if you watch the entirety of that clip Calvin walks up to the control box and you can clearly hear the starter clanking on and off. Motor is probably fried.
