Yes agreed, Femi is just the type of person who just wants to say as much nonsense as possible and hope no one will challenge it, if they do they will be told they are not listening.
@J Washington I would guess that this is his country, as an immigrant, British descendant and probably born here. I would guess also that he is of West Indian descent who has changed his name to an African one. I am guessing but this would fit the stereotype of such a person.
Well said, Calvin. The trouble with Femi Nylander is that he keeps using American examples and history. The Civil Rights movement derived from the way American black people were treated in the US. It is not relevant to Britain because black Britons were treated very differently for eg, we never had segregation in schools or pubs or the work place etc.
Not just that but also it was the South that had segregation. People in New England for example were very different and African Americans factored in minimally. But somehow now the west coast and northeast self-flagellate over something which is not specifically their history in the US.
@@SeeLasSee don’t be ridiculous do some research racism was worse in the north than it was in the south the majority of race riots happened in the north

@@washingtongarden4078 It's obvious that Calvin Robinson understands statistics and their application and how to look deeper at disparities. Eg. There was a time when there were disproportionate mortality rates for black people undergoing general surgery. The then unknown blood disorder, sickle cell anaemia, was the cause. The disparity was caused by genetics not systemic racism. Racists exist but not a purposely designed system of laws, codes and practice like it was in the USA.
@Pale Rider You must be a wind up merchant. When he appears on a proper news channel I might agree. But he is always playing a cheapskate 'Robin' to a farcical right wing 'Batman'.
@@utv5490 What's a "proper news channel"? I think what you actually mean is, you want to see Calvin on a "left wing biased news channel". Calvin is discriminated against because of his political views and by not following the leftist echo chamber of other, what you'd call, "proper news channels", so you'll probably not see him on these tv equivalent of "rags" of tv production. I agree, the so called right is farcical, but my goodness, nothing in this universe is more farcical than the left/Labour party, you know, the ones that can't bring themselves to say what a woman is, more than farcical, loonies comes to mind. The left is about division, pure and simple, it never used to be when I used to vote for them. A bit like this British black civil rights group, it just sounds like another BLM con job. Apart from being divisive, it has nothing to do with Britain today. If Britain is so systemically racist, why do Africans and Asians do substantially better than Afro Caribbean's, and a lot of whites in Britain?
We need fact led discussion and debate. The problem is that the people within this 'movement' don't want to have difficult conversations. All they can do is just scream 'racist' every two minutes because, quite frankly, that seems to be all that they are capable of because they dont deal in facts. It's pathetic. It's divisive. It's dishonest.
At one point he said rhetorically, "is it because black kids are less intelligent?" The simple answer to that question is "Probably". He kind of demonstrates his own point.

It's not wasted people like Femi need to be challenged and who better than Calvin? If Calvin was white and came out with same argument with facts Femi would have been screaming Racist instead he had no path to do so and was well schooled by Calvin with facts and common sense!
@@lofatmat That guy is just another race grifter. Another one with his hands open saying 'gimme'. Black civil rights group, so the country to experience American Portland riots for the future?. How about repatriation compensation for parental errors coming to the UK! So to assist those who find the British system not up to their standard or expectation? Calvin as always, logical, reasonable, articulate and fair minded.
Calvin had Femi on the ropes a couple of times on that discussion. It’s the same rhetoric time and time again from the race baiter. They need to stop blaming everyone else for their problems.
Calvin speaks a lot of sense growing up in late 80s early 90s inner city area I do think things have got better. There's disparity of achievement between the children of African parents and Caribbean parents, and differences between Indian and East Asian kids in educational outcomes. Some of the lowest achievement is by white working class kids. The underlying problem is poverty of expectation which defines certain groups irrespective of skin colour.
I would say the common theme is poor parenting. Indian and Chinese parents have much higher expectations of their kids and apply more discipline. Poor white and black families are usually single parent households
@@mesolithicman164 sad but true. Having gone to a school with a large council estate intake, the parenting quality was average to poor at best and often appalling. There’s only so much the school can do if the child had no support at home or the parents see no value in education. Where does this Femi person get his information? I myself taught at a large inner city secondary school for 15 years, where black and ethnic ‘other’ students are the majority. In a school of nearly 2000 there are only 100 white students, and most certainly black/other ethnic groups are not put down, or discouraged, and they perform very well having been given every opportunity to do so. Femi is the type of person that looks for racism and racial inequality in everything, and because of that, he will of course, find it! Calvin can look inwardly and outwardly and can see where disparities may exist and acknowledge where there racism, but can also recognise when communities need to address their own issues and take responsibility.
Does that not sound like a genocide has a oocured, stop using white and black as a description, use African and English. Why are their only 5% English students in only just 70 years of immigration? Genocide is ok when done to English people, right?
@@RPJustkeepmarching With all the slavery which has always existed there? More slaves were sold within Africa than were ever sold to the Europeans. It was Africans selling other Africans into slavery, don't ever forget that.

I’d heard that some in the new government want them to return to help rebuild the economy after the destruction Mugabe caused but I doubt many will.
I was taught all about slavery and the UK's part in it at school in the 1970s and how absolutely awful it was - pretty standard in the syllabus at that time; I'm not sure what teaching me about Malcolm X and MLK would have given me. And although white as someone who has lived in New York and London - US culture generally and black culture in particular are very different in the two countries.
I expect you weren't taught ALL about it, just a cherry picked part of it. Some African countries made a fortune out of selling slaves to Europeans and didn't want the slave trade to end. Africans had been selling other Africans into slavery for hundreds of years before Europeans went to Africa, and it carried on afterwards - it still goes on.

He has to say black Caribbean people because the stats show that black people from other parts of the world like Nigeria are thriving in the UK. It disproves race being a factor
Never mind that the Carribbean was full of French enslaved Africans before the British took it away from them. If he doesn't know that, he knows nothing at all.

We should be aiming for 'Equality of Opportunity' not equal outcome, which is what Femi wants. Calvin spoke so well with common sense. This 'civil rights' group is just another divisive organisation designed to create jobs for the likes of Femi. As Calvin said black people have the same rights in this country as white people.
Equality of outcome translates as a 'free ride'. Blacks are trying to claim ancient Egypt as a black empire, the need to appropriate someone else's history as your own shows a certain desperation. You only need to look at the faces in tomb paintings to see that they are not African in bone structure.
Stop using black and white as a description, instead change it to African and English people, then it will start to dawn on you the stupid and genocidal actions the lovely people of this country have been forced to take.
@@mattfm101 By African, do you also mean Jamaican? If you do then 'Black' people is a useful descriptor. I assume 'lovely people' is meant to be ironic. Although it is accurate as these lovely people and their descendants ended the international slave trade, invented the Industrial Revolution which lifted millions out of agrarian poverty and fought two world wars to free the world of Fascism and German militarism. Oh, and defeated Soviet Communism in a 30 year Cold War. So, yes, "lovely people" is unironically a good choice of phrase.
I was waiting to see how long it would be before he shoehorned slavery into the discussion. Interesting also how Indians and Chinese do very well within this so called 'racist' system. It seem that only Afro Caribbeans are being targeted by the systemically racist policy. Except in Sports and music where they are over represented.
Some ‘individuals’ play the race card simply as a cover for their own failings and because they can and know that they’re able to because it won’t be questioned. It's all over for indigenous Brits now. When Enoch Powell said the British would become a lost nation ( indigenous British that is) this is the beginning of the end.
Calvin Robinson filled in all the blanks here, providing more and more stats. and showing what a ridiculous idea of 'Black Civil Rights' is, and how absurd as a minority group (Black people) have all the 'Rights' we all have already, asking, what do you you that you don't have now...Brilliant Calvin much Respect.
People from the Caribbean were never invited, the 'Windrush' was picking up military personnel but there wasn't many of them and the ship was mainly empty, the captain put an advert in the local paper offering cheap passage to the UK, the government didn't know they were coming.
Yes it always annoys me when I hear them say Caribbean people were invited, as if we somehow have an obligation to them. The truth is they were offered a job, the transport services wanted cheap labour, they probably got a letter saying we would like to invite you to take this job, but the ordinary citizens of this country did not invite them.

he should have mentioned possible reasons for the higher death rates of black/ethnic women in child birth. Having sex with cousins for Pakistanis. Overweight/obese African women. Poor healthcare in childhood for many women coming from poor countries resulting in poor health as adults.
It's another movement that wants to contrive systemic problems rather than honestly look for genuine solutions for problems in society. These movements are harmful, not helpful.
This is a classic example of a highly educated person schooling someone who has an agenda, Equity is a word that is used when people cannot compete on merit. The result will be greater corruption and poorer services no matter what you apply it to.
It is having the opposite effect . People are fed up of this professional victim stance .could it be that their chips on the shoulders and their cultural differences, stop them from moving forward? Femi is the type who talks and talks and as soon as they are challenged they crumble, they hope if they say enough nonsense we will give up, Calvin doesn't give up, he talks sense with facts and says so much with a few words.
There is no systemic racism in Britain. As Laurence Fox says, “They are what they say you are.” Agree with Calvin. How are black women less likely to receive good healthcare in childbirth, when the NHS is free … and nurses come from very diverse heritages? Many of the Windrush generation were happy to come to the UK rather than have no job or limited prospects in their own country. The fact that this actor can only refer to American history says it all. His knowledge of the English curriculum is zero.
Unfortunately , his type do not want to know, they want to induce a systemic racism to suit there own agenda, this is to justify this bullshit Black Civil Rights crap. Ask him how many of the downtrodden Windrush race are able to retire from here and go back to their homeland and BUY PROPERTY TO RETIRE TO.
Well done gb news, Calvin and femi, a great and civilised debate, both sides getting equal chance to air their points and no hatred of the other side,. Gb news is really the best..

as well as kids learning about the transatlantic slave trade they should also learn about the barbery slave trade as well. slavery didn't just happen to black people
And the trade from Africa to the Middle-East, where the slaves were systematically castrated on arrival to prevent them getting a generational foothold in those nations (and then being able to complain about it 200 years later). Not to mention the existing slave trade around the world today.
Interestingly it’s obvious how little black people care about any other time in history or any plights that happened to another race. They couldn’t give a shit and I’m beyond caring about them to be honest. Had enough of hearing about one thing that revolves around them.
I'm failing to find Systemic racism in football... Odd how our racist nation allowed so many people become rich playing football, and become music and acting stars...
