Hasn't the word "normal" been banned yet? It's not very inclusive is it? Why do we assume the entire countries has become fascist woke when all it is, is a small minority whose voice seems to be given air time and assumed to speak on behalf of everyone else??
That's because that small minority are actually in powerful positions, not just in the green haired Twitter mobs. Many of them are in HR, diversity departments, Media, Reporters, Authors, etc. Their voice is disproportionately large.

I presume they are working on the basis that if you repeat obsurdities often enough, sooner or later they become accepted as truth. They have been sucessful so far because they have encountered very little push back, but there are now small but encouraging signs that is starting to change. The danger is that when the collective does nothing to counter, over time, insanity gradually becomes accepted as the new normal.
I buy my clothes second hand, furniture & anything I need second hand (that’s my charity & recycling work done) and at the same time not contributing to wokery. I think we've become rather hysterical in the UK. I do agree with Calvin, however it's a little unfair for him to accuse Primark of being a sweatshop. They're far better than some higher charging clothing retailers and most people who shop there do so because it's affordable. I usually assume someone's a snob when they have a go at Primark, but I know that's not true of Calvin. Nice to see him on GB News again.
@@sparkz56 They may well do, but they are scrutinized far more than any other UK clothing retailer and it's because working class people shop there. It's a not very well hidden form of snobbery and a way of feeling superior to criticise Primark and those who shop there. An easy hit and easy for a certain crowd to sit around together feeling smug. It's purely an affordable choice for many people. The same as McDonald's or any other major company that low income people shop at. Snobbery with an ethical wrapper to hide it.
Genuine question: With all this 'reinventing' of everyday words and phrases we use in English - are other languages, such as Romantic and Germanic languages, coming under the same scrutiny? As I understand it, plenty of them are hugely based on gender i.e. masculine and feminine versions of nouns, pronouns, adjectives and conjunctions to a point where 'misgendering' a word in a certain context can sound ridiculous to a native speaker. Are these 'woke' movements and organisations therefore trying the same with French, or German, or Spanish?
As a native German speaker, I'm sad to say that the same thing is happening in Germany and has been going on for years. Worse still, as you have rightly pointed out, you always have a masculine/feminine and sometimes neuter form of nouns, for example (Freund, masculine for friend, and Freundin for female friend). Both of these always need to be indicated when you write an official text unless, of course, it's clear who you are talking about. I don't know where this is going, now that the apparently highly controversial notion of binary biological sex is considered offensive. It may be that we then need to write a whole paragraph to include all the 126 and a half genders so as not to exclude anyone... Dear, oh dear!
We need a list of companies and a brief description of their woke choices so we can decide whether to boycott them or not, as many companies are not known to us. we can make our voices heard with our £££££

How refreshing to watch a TV programme with presenters and guests who are not "pushing a woke agenda" but simply discussing topics sensibly - if this were MSM one of these presenters, who has both a cervix and is black, would be flogging the "I am a victim" agenda for all it was worth. It's scary to think for how many years our public broadcaster has been simply a propaganda arm for The Left. You guys are so refreshing.
