This Brother is pure gold!! At 50 years of age, and 42 years of playing, he grabbed my heart and soul in this presentation!! He spoke to us as men and women first, then drummers and the WHOLE picture about being real and being a professional. Man, I love that he speaks from the heart and isn’t worried about “chops” as the priority. I learned a long time ago, from listening to the greats, that you need to be versatile and always professional. You do this in the details and by always giving your employer what they want. You let them allow you your time for “chops” and you will always work. I am still seeking the opportunities of this man of class and talent by staying the course of professionalism and never taking our craft for granted. Sir, you are truly a much needed professional in our craft of drumming. Love this man and have learned so much from you!!!
Thank You Calvin for letting these young and undisciplined cats know "the Pocket" is the key to success and longevity as a drummer. Chops are fantastic that said, if a drummer is constantly filling holes with chops, notes and fills, he or she is a distraction and undisciplined no matter how talented they are, not to mention they WON'T be touring or in the studio!!
I'm not gonna lie I met Calvin Rodgers at a clinic in Florida Orlando area back in 2010, He came off real arrogant. For the longest time I did not respect anything he was doing after that experience with him and I had to ask myself was my feelings on my sleeve, They might have been a little bit but the truth of the matter is I had a chance to do some touring myself, seeing him now and seen the growth makes me respect him in a whole different way as a man. I appreciate you bro I have learned a lot from you

I haven't played none of Yamahas custom Kits before I have only played a stage coustom kit live so I really don't know because I have been with pearl session /master's Kit's all of my life and I really don't know what's good quality from other countries simply because I never played them live I'm willing to play it if I run across someone who has a Yamaha coustom elite, Tama star 🌟, DW collectors , coustom grech , coustom ddrum , lugwig classic coustom , crush coustom Kit's or any other coustom company's out there I will be willing to play , feel and play but pearl mastersterworks company is all I now far as a quality Kit I've never ever played everybody else's highinn gear
