Calvin's Baby - 76 Kawasaki KZ900 TURBO 

A co-worker back in 1978 installed a turbo kit on his KZ650. He had a problem getting the intake manifold to fit, and seemed to have running issues with his. Nice to see one that runs! Still, after all these years!

Love the Turbo!! I was lucky enough to have owned an original TC. My only regret was not getting more seat time on it.

Good to hear you Johanny. The ATP turbo Z1R ran a little square, gold facet fuel pump, as Kelvin said it will need it on boost. Nobody mentioned the Denco glide clutch, they were a great asset. The ATP guages was smaller and if I recall it was a glycerine filled guage They all had that little slow start issue, because of the turbo in line. They also all had that little miss until they came on boost

W.O.W. I so get that. And a z1r. Calvin is the man. Both my older bros had several 'Zeds' as we term em down under, anthat thing is magic. My dream machine would be similar but I've always wanted to supercharge. There's a guy in Oz has a supercharged ko honda I think, but definitely a sohc. Car carb fitted. Oh yeah, I'd go that route for a z1000!

There is NO WAY that's a stock tc..it has an unknown spider pipe on it..despite all that..with all that..powder coating..etc..most beautiful..I own an 82 kz 1000 z1rtc..can't ride it..if it fell over in the parkin lot and broke a blinker, I'd be bankrupt..stone stock except for tires, sprockets, and chains...it lives in an atmospheric storage facility..go by once in awhile just to sit with it and remember the 3 seconds of turbo lag on a 3.50 rear tire that made me feel like an old man in the middle of a corony event..when I was20...yank the front end at 90+ in 3rd..was given the opportunity to choose between my 1st wife and my ice blue tc...take a guess..

Oil pressure gauge doesn't work. Dump the Bendix and install an HSR it's like night and day.... Nice KZ, wish more were on the road.
