This bike came to us in boxes by a gentleman from Mississippi. As a military man, he bought the bike online, while stationed in Iraq. It was located in Wisconsin. Thank you for your service to our wonderful country, Geoff. Enjoy many happy miles on your beautiful KZ900. Happy Thanksgiving to you and all our viewers!

I remember when they first came out us young kids thought the size and power of the engine was ridiculous they had a formidable reputation. Even today they still look breathtaking especially that one you just finished even better than new great job.

I owned the exact same bike, a green 76 KZ900. Bought it new in Feb of 77 for $2200. I eventually replaced it with an 88 ZX10 Ninja which I still have, and like new. I wonder where my KZ is now... I'd like to have it back!

I haven’t seen so many Z-1’s in one place since the 70’s! I still lust after the early Z-1’s in the orange and root beer colors. Gorgeous bike!

Man, that's one amazing bike now, it was a great starting point for the resto, but the finished product is absolutely beautiful. I really hope that the owner got the chrome sorted out, it would be a sin not to for the next of an extra few hundred dollars. Oooooh man I'm well jell now, gonna go and check out my 1973 Suzuki gt250k, candy apple green that I totally restored to take my mind off that big kwak lol

I live in the wrong country for the things that I love in life, MAYBE. I have a couple of Z`s and 1 turbo Z900 but I`m running out of time Johnny. I also have a couple of GS1000 bikes and a Fuel injected 80`s GPZ1100 4 X 88/89 ZX10`s F`n Fast and a couple 3-4 of Suzuki 250/350 twin smokers. a Suzuki GS 750, a GS 850 shaftie and shit, I think that I have a 60`s Honda road 100 or something and a couple more maybe. I think that I have about 18 bikes all up and I love them all but just wish that I had more time and of course, Money. No matter I will keep on keeping on as we do down here. Mate, I do enjoy your channel and get so much enjoyment from seeing these old KWAKAS being restored from my era when I worked at BRISK SALES in Buranda Queensland AUSTRALIA. I just LOVE these bikes and your show. Cheers from Down Under, Just John

Hi John, I'm in Sydney - I've been chatting to Johnny about maybe having him source a Z1 for me over there. If you are perhaps interested in offloading at least one of your cherished flock, I'm happy to chat. Cheers mate Miles

Were they designated Kz in the US only? I grew up only knowing them as Zed 900s.

73 - 75 were z1's here in the states
@Z1Hellrider
@Z1Hellrider 3 года назад
Yes, the ones made at the US Kawasaki factory are KZ900 or KZ1000, the rest of the world got Japanese factory made bikes and are side badged, Z900 or Z1000. The '72-'75 Zed line-up were called Z1('72-'73) Z1a('74), Z1b('75) all over the world !!, those couldn't be arsed looking up the difference call them all ZEDS
