Another "battle" with a ZL1 1LE. Track day at Barber Motorsports Park with Just Track It. Had another opportunity to share the track with a Camaro ZL1 1LE. Days like this make me enjoy my Camaro SS 1LE more and more. This track is tough for me but I'll eventually get it. Hope y'all enjoy the video!

Nice work man! You literally cannot beat the value to sheer track performance that you get with the SS 1LE. But, the ZL1 1LE is a monster, lol. Great video!

Agreed! I want one but I like the comfort of the magnaride in the SS on the road. 1st world problems…

@@gizmotron2030 Oh for sure, I’ve heard plenty about how harsh the ZLE’s ride is with those multimatic shocks, and that suspension. You’ve absolutely still got one of the best Camaros, and one of the sports cars on the market right now!

I have an 18 ZL1/1LE. Had 14 SS/1LE before that. SS is a bargain and if you know how to drive it will shock people. I ran 315 rears instead of 285 Michelin pilot super sports and the car was a blast. After a while needed more. Unless you set up the ZL1/1LE with the camber in front it is hard to handle in a bad line. After camber set to track it begs to turn and the difference in times is large. Again I agree that every driver is different and a lot of drivers arent driving at 10 tenths. Just personal experience in both cars. Would not drive ZL1/1LE every day but SS with super sports was pleasurable on and off track.

Agreed. It’s harder to get to the limit of a ZL1 1LE but when you get it right it’s fast as fuck and rewarding.

Seems like the suspension on the ZL1 is the only thing keeping you from catching up. Great racing! Getting the 2022 ZL1 myself.

The supercharger is what's keeping him from catching up he's on him in the curves

@@sdmc1972 power doesnt matter in curves, you cant put down all 455 in the ss let alone the 650 in the zl1, the canards, wing, splitter, suspension all play a role, not all about power

@@lilchickenwing7556 what's your point? The 1le keeps up till the straight because the zl1 doesn't handle any better do you have a camaro? I have a 1le the they put down almost as good of times as the zl1.the zl1 pulls on the straight because that's where it is all about power

@@sdmc1972 like i said, you cant put down all 455hp in an ss around curves let alone 650hp, hes in him on the curves yes, but the zl1 1le handles alot better than the ss 1le, like i said the splitter, canards, and wing play a huge role, the ss is right behind it on the curves but thats cuz the zl1 1le owner doesn't know how to drive, much easier to turn into a corner at higher speeds with a complete aero package like the zl1 1le than it would be in a ss 1le

First I wish I get open laps like that. Yes the SS 1LE is a great bargain. I been comparing cars for several months. I can not find one that checks all the boxes but dollar for dollar the SS 1LE and ZL1 1LE are there. As in any car the numbers are on paper from test drivers. The main difference in any car is driver. Not to mention tires and brakes.

Agreed. Cars don’t drive themselves on track… yet. I will say the SS 1LE allows the driver to push and get closer to its limit more than the ZL1 1LE will.

@@gizmotron2030 i drove a 2018 Camaro ZL1 and a 2018 Camaro SS 1LE so far. I am in the middle of trying to order a ZL1 1LE with manual transmission. A lot of car for me so I will grow into it.

@@gabrielflores1149 Best drivers car....meaning it drives great on a road course. You don't need great visibility nor functional rear seats for that. I have no issues with visibility in my ZL1 and never have carried more than 1 person so I never needed to use the rear seats. The rear seats in any year model Camaro or Mustang isn't great.

It’s an APEX Pro gps lap timer. The lights show how much grip you’re using in the corners. There’s other stuff it tracks besides lap times and cornering grip. Stuff like gain/loss, speed around the track, g forces etc…

That day I was on worn RS4s. I have RE71Rs now. Those RS4s barely had anything left lol.

I went bck several times on new Goodyear SC3s and loved them. I'm trying the R's this season..my car is all stock just track alignment and fluid change doing great. Any modds for you?

No mods. Just the same as yours. I plan on doing bolt ons and a cam to get more top end out of it in the future
