Great memories, I had a Saturday job at the International store just up the road from her house, people came in bought meat to be sent to her. I delivered a few times, scary as a lad but looking back she did a very good job. I saw cars stop on the A30 and people give her cash for the dogs. Characters like Kate make the world a better place.
remember seeing her around 69 1970 time i would have been about 8 my mum gave her a can of dog food once she was very happy with it did anyone reading this go to the primary school around this time miss mccubben headmistress i had an awfull time there
Just discovered her name today. What a dedicated character! That is intensive work! She should be remembered for many more centuries. Is there a dog charity in her name?
They weren't neglected, local vets testified at the time she kept them clean and healthy, her house was the same, it's possible to keep animals and not have a smelly house.
Camberley Kate was an aggressive old lady who would park her cart up in Camberley High Street and god behold anyone who took a photo of her with out paying half a crown
@@natalied9022 That is no reason to run up to people shouting gibberish and hitting people with a stick that she used to hit the dogs with You were not there in Camberley in the 60s I WAS She was not kind to here dogs they were a pack she had trouble controlling
@@natalied9022 So violence is OK you did not know her I was there and saw her on a daily basis as she came into the town centre. She was cruel to the dogs hitting them with the same stick she threatened the public with
@@charliecroker6199 why didn't you offer to help her with the dogs then? Maybe she was annoyed with the way people just abandon a dognthey don't want like many still do now.
