Thank you for watching! 😍 And definitely do. It is a great company! Happy to help when you apply. 💖 Apply here: www.cambly.com/en/tutors?lang=en&referralCode=kelly628
Hi Kelly! It's because of this video I signed up with your link for Cambly (and Cambly Kids) and got accepted the same day I applied!! I just completed 10 priority hours so I hope you get your referral bonus!! :D
Hi! That is amazing! Congrats on getting accepting and getting started, yay! 🥳 And thank you so much for applying under me. If you need anything at all, do feel free to reach out and I am happy to help. 😁
@@TeacherKelly And is the language proficiency level known simply from the lesson level? Strategies and resources needed to have on hand would vary greatly especially if you are working with a child who is nearly FEP. So I am confused about that element.
I applied to Camby and Cambly Kids about a week and a half ago. It still says my "my profile is under review" for both. Is it normal for it to take this long to get a response? If you are rejected do they let you know? Or does your profile just say "under review" forever? Thanks
Hello! I was hired with Cambly Kids last week and I opened up lots of hours but no bookings. How can you increase your bookings? Also, does priority hour work for Cambly Kid or is it just for the adults? Thanks!
Hi! Congrats! 😍 Priority hours only work for adults, as Cambly Kids classes are by reservation only. (Although doing some hours can still be a good idea just for experience!) Make sure your profile is geared toward kids and attractive to potential students. 😊
Hi Kim I was wondering how long did it take for you to be approved for Cambly Kids? I was approved in 8 hours for the adults program but I wanted to wait to submit my demo. I did that yesterday and I'm hoping I won't have to wait too long :)
Thanks for the video!! I work for itutor group and for cambly adults and I enjoy both! I would love to do cambly kids. Is there a structured cambly kids program with levels, or is it like the adults where you just pick a random lesson you think is on their level to load each time? Thanks!
Awesome! 💜 Cambly Kids has structured curriculums for different levels, and lessons load automatically for each class. (It is more like iTutorGroup than normal Cambly, if that makes sense.)
Hi, I just want to teach for cambly kids. I signed up and I’m looking at the application and I’m like I want to teach only kids not adults. Is there a cambly kids only booking option??
Hi! When applying, you are essentially applying for both Cambly and Cambly Kids. There is no way around that, as you can't teach for Cambly Kids without also being hired at Cambly. However, once approved to teach, you can open your schedule for kids-only reservations. You are not required to teach adults at all. :)
@@TeacherKelly great!! That’s what I wanted to know. Reservations for kids only... I’m really happy.. thank you so much!! Btw, how long are kids only classes?
@@craftygabijamberryavongall7183 No problem. Kids reservations are 30 minutes. :) I just put up a new video on making a good Cambly Kids intro video. Be sure to check it out!
Hi teacher Kelly,I hope you're well. Thanks for the informative videos.💐 Please help me with regards to the demo lesson, Are we expected to teach or cover all the materiel within the given time or is it oky to cover as much as we can as long as we show our teaching abilities? TIA🌻
Hi! Thanks for supporting my channel. 💜 For the demo, just cover what you can of the material. Focus more on showing your skills and abilities, rather than trying to rush.
Hi! None of the companies will care what visa you are on, as you can live and work from anywhere. But, you won't be able to use this to apply to companies that want US/Canada teachers. You will instead need to apply to companies that accept your nationality/passport.
Hey Kelly ! How long after sending in the demo lesson for cambly kids, would I get a notification if I have the job or not? Also would I be notified via email?
Hi! They will email you once approved, but you can also keep a check on your application page. There is no set timeframe to hear. They hire according to demand, so it can be hours, days, weeks, etc. 😊
Hi Kelly, I have my bachelor's degree in education foundation phase and have 4 years employed teaching experience and have had my own tutoring centre for 1year but I closed now due to me being a full time stay at home mom. Do I still need a TEFL course to be accepted by Cambly or Magic Ears. Could you send a link of the best also reasonable online tefl courses? Thanks so much. Shout out from South Africa :) Love your vids very informative.
@@TeacherKelly thanks so much, also I was wondering if these companies have an age cut off, my mom is a very passionate teacher also has bachelor degree in teaching but she has just retired and I thought she could do this too? Also what minimum tech do I need to be able to teach. I have an i3 laptop 10 and 20 mbps fiber and headset with mic. Is this adequate or what do you recomend? Are there any other online teaching platforms that accept South Africans?
@@TeacherKelly What if your state teaching certificate already states that you are certified to teach both English K-6 and English to Speakers of Other Languages K-8? I am assuming that is all that would be needed, but thought I would verify. What would you say are the highest paying online positions teaching ELLs? Outschool and iTalki both look good, and setting my own pay is ideal. Pay is paramount, of course, but so are hours and I know I have to find a good balance of the two, which is why I was considering all options until I build up clientele. I may wish to speak with you more in depth at some point. Okay, thanks from this fellow redhead! :)
@@lockergr Requirements will vary company to company, and your state certification may or may not be enough. (Some schools still want a stand alone ESL qualification.) I honestly don't work with many set-your-own rate companies myself. I am with Outschool, but don't do anything with them at present, just for lack of time. Personally, I find the marketplace-type platforms do allow for higher pay, but can also be super competitive. So although your hourly may be better, you may not get enough work to make a difference. Some teachers are wildly successful, while others are not. So it really depends on what you are offering! Definitely feel free to email me to chat further.
Hello, thanks for the info. I was wondering if the company also pays via direct deposit to an American Bank account, instead of using PayPal. Greetings!
Thanks for this video! I have a question about scheduling because I'm used to 25 min lessons with other companies - how does scheduling 30 min lessons back to back work? Are they picky about you leaving or arriving a minute late (or however long it takes to jump between classes) for back to back lessons? It seems like no matter what it's not going to be exactly 30 minutes if it's back to back..
No problem! 😊 Yes bookings will often run into each other. They aren't strict about timing like most companies. I always am running a minute or two behind. 😅
Woohoo! Awesome! 😊 There isn't a live interview for Cambly Kids, but just ashort recorded demo. But definitely reach out if I can help. Happy to assist however you need! 💜
@@TeacherKelly How do you handle bathroom breaks? I would have to go once an hour I imagine. I like having time to have a quick drink of water, blow my nose-whatever! It would stink to have to take a 30 minute break just so you can use the bathroom and switch over to your next student.
@@lockergr Different teachers do different things in terms of scheduling. (And it is a personal thing based on your needs!) I personally include breaks in my schedule, so I can go to the bathroom, breath and relax, eat, or whatever else I need to do. For Cambly, classes are 30 minutes and back to back, so you can't really squeeze in things between. You never want to pause a lesson, be late or end early. So taking breaks is essential.
Hi teacher Kelly! What is your referral code? I already applied and waiting for my process to be accepted (hopefully) but can I put in my referral code of you if possible? Thank you!!
Very carefully! I keep a planner on my ipad and always keep things carefully tracked day to day, week to week there. I never double book myself, as it is too stressful for me haha! (But I know some teachers who do this and manage well.)
Hi, Teacher Kelly! Your videos are amazing. I am currently an online ESL teacher and would love add Cambly Kids. I was wondering if they are currently hiring and how often would I be able to change my availability. I’m assuming that the company will book classes for the teachers and that I would have different students all the time. That would actually appeal to me, because I would have to change my schedule weekly. Thanks!
Thank you! Cambly/Cambly Kids hiring is always variable. They receive tons of applications ongoingly, and only hire what they need at any given time. I usually suggest applying, then forgetting about it until you hear back. In terms of scheduling, you set your own hours whenever you like, and students can book with you. (So the company doesn't book on your behalf.) It is completely flexible.
Hi, Kelly! Thank you so much for this video, super informative. I was wondering if you need to have a degree, certification, or experience to tutor online? I have none but I'm interested and determined to work for Cambly Kids!
Cambly/Cambly Kids does not require any qualifications or experience. However, they can be very competitive to get into so. So having something is beneficial.
Hi, Teacher Kelly! Another great video. Do you get booked for slots or can they start a class and leave after 15 min? I know Cambly tutors for adults are paid for the minute. Is it the same structure? Also, you *should* totally do a video on your setup! How do you laminate things AND travel? Also, you have a good angle. So much wall in your view for more decorations! Cheers. 😇
Thank you! And good idea! Will definitely look at doing a video on set up soon. 🤩 Cambly Kids is 30 minute classes and it is reservation only (ie, you can't get Cambly Kids student on priority hours). But it is still paid per minute, so if something happens and the lesson ends early, you still only get paid for the minutes you've taught. 😊
@@Connor-fg9qg No problem. They usually stay; I have only had a handful of times where my student needed to leave early. Parents are paying for the class, so they wouldn't be too happy if their kiddo ended class early. 🤣

Love your videos.. You are so energetic!! Do you have any advice for non-native speakers who would like to be ESL online teachers? Especially the companies that may hire them.. i really love to hear advices from you.. all of your videos are super helpful😊 .. Thanks❤️
Aww thank you so much! Super happy to hear you enjoy my videos. 😍 In terms of companies, try Engoo, Native Camp, First Future, Fluentby, Amazing Talker or acadsoc. Those all hire non-natives I believe! 💖
