I recently discovered Cambodia for a retirement destination. Many expats love the place ! Visa's for people over 55 are insanely cheap & easy for retirement. -- Siem Reap has become my ideal spot to be for my last years. A beautiful city super friendly people who speak English many expats great food and a very low cost of living ! Just a wonderful city. Big enough but not too big. Cheap one hour flights to Bangkok can be had for fun or perhaps for quality medical care. Many simply love the place. - - - Thanks for the tour !!!

I had visited Cambodia twice. People are very good and friendly. Only problems faced in the immigration. One time at siem reap airport. One time land boarder at bavet checkpost. I had to pay 30 usd bribe as they are not letting me to enter. I had valid documents like return flight tickets, hotel booking, sufficient funds, Evisa etc. Immigration officer insisted to pay 30 usd. Finally i had to pay.
Sad to hear! We definitely heard about those scams. Happens a lot with immigration unfortunately. We had problems going from Cambodia to Laos. They also asked a bribe but luckily it was just a few dollars. But it’s unfortunate, there should be stricter rules in place so they can’t bribe tourists

You see in the map Phu Quoc island is Infront of Kompot province and we can arrive there only 15km from Cambodia and 45 km from Vietnam but why we have lost this island to Vietnam? This island in Khmer language we call Koh Troll island. I am Cambodian I am very very regret to this. Why 😢😢😢 why why?

Yes you can! We got it at the airport when we arrived. It’s 30US$ and you have to pay in cash (in US$). Make sure your dollars look good without any marks or tears because otherwise it won’t get accepted!

Question. We are traveling cambodia, vietnam, thailand later this year. Question for you is what footwear would you recommend if doing a bit of everything. I have a crushed heel and require good support. Cant do flip flops all day or i am down the next day.
