These cambodia videos have been a breath of fresh air. I don't know why, but Cambodian people just seem just way more relaxed and happier in general than their Vietnamese counterparts.
That is a sweeping claim! The people working in the Battambang mall video didn't seem friendly. Troy was ignored. All these girls are sales girls working around foreign tourists, so much so that they have picked up English. Whereas, in the videos I have seen, the Vietnamese have been random poor families who I wouldn't expect to be so outgoing as they mostly don't work, and rarely talk to foreigners. These do seem happy though.
I'm cambodian. I find the way vietnamese people interact with one another and settle disputes just seem more....civilized?🤣 I find many viet people tend to think before they speak or act on things. Here in the states, you should observe the overseas community of both groups. Vietnamese temples and churches are all well kept, large and spacious. Also, a sense of harmony and balance in their architectural design. The communities they prefer to live in are also low in crime and the neighborhoods are equally well kept. In comparison, cambodian temples are broken, dilapidated and often in crime infested areas. Their communities are mostly crime ridden with lots of homelessness, drugs, gangs, etc. The neighborhoods you choose to live in is reflected by the living standards you set for yourself and also reflected in personality and culture. Just my 2 cents.
@@remhk6672 Living in an inner city alley in Saigon for 7 years, my biggest surprise is how the Vietnamese avoid disputes. They don't complain about what any neighbor does, and, like a neighborhood in any country, some neighbors are extremely inconsiderate. (For example the family with 3 street dogs which bark all the time, also raises 100 chickens and roosters. Or the karaoke party family. Or the crazy lady who hoards so much trash it flows into the narrow alley.). A second noticeable distinction is the absence of road rage. Imagine streets packed with motorbikes, no consideration for other riders when some speed, run lights, uturn, cut you off, go wrong way, it is all accepted as normal. Defensive driving is the rule. City accidents are very rare, the traffic just adapts and flows, it is actually much more efficient that having long stoplights everywhere. But - if you challenge someone - watch out: if you cause him to "lose face", he goes berserk.
I really enjoy seeing the smiling Cambodians. This just proves that living in the city and having a lot of things, doesn't automatically makes you more happy Cheers 😊

Next time you take the bamboo train you should teach those sellers Marketing 101. With everyone having the exact same 3 types of items it's a race to the bottom on prices and a limited pool of buyers for that type of item. They can diversify with wooden carvings and other handicrafts and increase the amount of money spent per customer. Next thing on the agenda snacks and a solar powered cooler for drinks. Who knows someday they may be selling knockoff Gucci handbags.
Did they actually make any money selling them for $10 for 50? More than half what they normally sell it for. The three sisters all look the same and pretty. Hope they all continue and finish school for their future.
