Cannot agree more . Concord Reference Bible overall is the best and also my favorite Bible . I have many RL Allan, Schuyler, Crossway and Cambridge. If the Concord was leather lined then it would be perfect. New Concord with full yapp is leather lined but dimensions are also bigger than Concord with polyurethane liner.
Just received this Bible in blue goatskin. Love everything about it! Feels great in my hands and the print is nice and bold. I have a goatskin blue Personal Size Canterbury that keeps slipping out of my hand. This Bible will be great for hospital/nursing home visits. Thanks for the review.
I watched this review (and gave it a thumbs up) just to support your channel. As soon as I saw "goatskin", I knew this Bible would be a bit too expensive for me. Then you mentioned that small font! I love the look of this Bible, and I am a fan of the two column center references layout. I prefer verse by verse instead of the paragraph setting, but I have found that with the large print Bibles I now use, verse by verse is less important to me. I appreciate the time you put into making your videos and love your honest opinion. God bless! :)
Thank you for your excellent and detailed review of the Cambridge Cameo - KJV. I just ordered one in the pretty green color. I love the 1920s style font. Very vintage.
A great review as usual and a very nice edition, a very tempting upgrade….but I still prefer the Clarion for its readability (no fault of the Cameo but rather an issue with my ageing eyes). I wouldn’t hesitate however if Cambridge decided to do the green and blue goatskin treatment to the Clarion…
Along with these blue and green editions are they making any new versions in black with the calf skin lining? I would love that!!! If they start making black ones like this, then I’m absolutely sold
This looks amazing. I have a Cameo with french morroco leather cover. Not sure what year it was from, it was printed in Great Britain. Bought it for $20 and it's such a joy to use. The (india) paper is great, thin and opaque, and the print is so easy to read. I'm in love with Cameo. I might end up getting either this one, or the calfskin one with apocrypha.

So delightful and informative review, thank you. The references - you mentioned they are about the same as the Turquoise, abt forty thousand. Do you know if this is less or more compared to the Longprimer and compared to the Concord?
Thanks! The Concord is similar in number, but they're different. It doesn't include the Apocrypha. I estimate the Concord to be around 44k. It has fewer than the 45k in the Clarion and new Pitt Minion. The Longpriner has 100,000 if I remember correctly. I'll try to confirm that number. They're forward and backward-moving chain references.
@@BibleBuyingGuide Excellent thanks. That will do, exact number is not important. So the Long primer has twice as much, hm. If it just had italics… I so have fallen in love with the Turquoise, but have realized that the references may be are not the most extensive, and am maaaay be a little disappointed on that part. Still great, great, great Bible. The Cameo seems to be the closest to be the little brother of the Turquoise, even if not the same pagination. Seems more readable then any of the other Bibles with small print.

Cambridge has made at least 3 Classic Cambridge King James Bibles now in Goatskin with leather liners, all of which you have reviewed (Turquoise, Concord, Cameo Reference), will they round it out by making my favorite bible of all time, the Cambridge Cameo Text Large Print in this fashion too? What do you think Reverend Brown?
Can you clarify the paper gsm? Can’t tell if you’re saying 22 or 28 gsm. How does the paper & font size in this Cameo compare to the Concord w/FY Evangelical offers in blue goatskin & marbled mahogany calfskin? I’ve been looking for a KJV w/Apocrypha. From your review, the Cameo might be THE ONE. Last year I purchased the above Concord in marbled mahogany and surprisingly can read the smaller font (I’m used to the Longprimer). If the font is smaller than 28 gsm it would be too difficult for these old eyes. The Cambridge marbled mahogany calfskin in FY is a truly amazing bible, but I’m now considering the more portable Cameo w/Apocrypha based on your review. It checks all the boxes: small, compact, portable, red lettered, opaque, high quality paper & construction, dark, readable print, Apocrypha and comfortable in hand. Thanks for your excellent review and comparisons to the other Cambridge bibles!
Thanks Kat. The paper is 28gsm. The paper is the same as the Concord. The font is 8-point. The Concord is closer to 9-point. I haven't seen the marbled mahogany calfskin Concord. If the leather is the same as the Treveris, then the calfskin is a lot smoother and it's slightly thicker.
@@BibleBuyingGuide Hi Randy. Thanks for answering the questions. Made a mistake asking about the font size, saying gsm by mistake. Appreciate the info and all the comparisons to different bibles in this review. I ended up getting the the Cambridge Cameo w/Apocrypha. Black calfskin is the only option if you want the apocrypha. The apocrypha is not the same translation as the one I use & trust by Edgar Goodspeed though. I agree the print is excellent in the Cameo and though the Concord font is larger, the smaller darker font in the Cameo is so very easy to read. In hindsight, I wish I had purchased this goatskin Cameo in your review. I’m not fond of the calfskin or paste down liner in the copy I purchased with the apocrypha. The front cover wants to curl and is very stiff. The inner liner looks like paper, not even vinyl. The size is perfect for a portable travel bible though. Thanks again!

I have both - I like topaz for note taking - turquoise for reading. If turquoise had wider margins it would be perfect for my needs. If I had to pick between 1 or the other, I'd pick turquoise.
@@jaytankson6555 Some of theirs are actually scans of Cambridge Bibles. This includes the wide margin reference (this is a Cambridge Cameo) and the mid-size text (this is a Cambridge Large Print Text).
It's just Cambridge's name for this Bible. It's been avaiable with and without the Apocrypha, and in the KJV and BNASB. Several publishers produce scanned copies (LCBP and CBP).
Too bad they left the cross references to the apocrypha in there. The apocrypha is not Scripture and has no business whatsoever being in The Bible. Love your reviews.
