I mean, that’s better than if they were starving, so I see that as okay. Besides, rent is cheap, so they would be able to afford lots of food. My father grew up on Howell St. and my uncle was with the Camden fire department for years. I checked the place out on google maps and all there was is some gutted, burned out shells of buildings. I visited the neighborhood 56 years ago and it didn't look too bad.

Much of what contributes to the urban blight originates from the flood of addicts from outside of the city from the suburbs who have taken refuge within the local community. Also, from what i have seen of other American " hoods" , Camden is not the worst by any means.

The only good thing Camden has going for it is its nice waterfront across from Philly. It’s a safe area with several nice entertainment options (Adventure Aquarium, Battleship New Jersey, BB&T Pavilion). Once you go a few blocks inland, it begins to look like a war zone full of neglected neighborhoods with crumbling streets and buildings. The city has been in decay for decades and doesn’t have the resources to handle the problems. Crime, drugs, poverty, a failing school system and corruption are rampant. Several mayors and many police officers have gone to prison for corruption. In fact, the city’s police department was disbanded in 2012-2013 with about half the force either laid off or voluntarily quitting and taken over by the county. Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be any end in sight for Camden as it continues to fall into ruin despite millions of dollars of financial aid coming from the State. If you just stick with the waterfront, you’ll be fine.

I grew up in Camden actually Cramer Hill a part of Camden. Walked the streets day or night without fear. 55 years have sure changed the landscape. We were definately not rich barely middle income but neighborhoods had some pride.. Taking jobs over seas, no jobs means no money . No money means what you see in these videos.1 question why do we need people to come here illegally when we can't or don't care for those who were born and raised here?I think maybe politicians care for the votes from illegals. . Also the power they receive not the U.S.A. TERM LIMITS for all.

When I was a kid in high school there was a hood called Lakeview aka the road it was in the middle of two Mexican gang turfs u could only go in the daytime with friends to get liquor from the Arabs cause they sold it to miners they didn't care we even bought it with food stamps but come night time u didn't cross those tracks if u wernt buying dope that's the only way getting in and out and we always had some heat on us,on the weekends the cops wouldn't even respond there that's place was a war zone back in the 80s this was a lil town called Bakersfield CA.

I'm just joking in that last post lol actually I'm glad to be talking to someone from there. That place is so small, every time I come there I look for the worst looking shit in town and I end up in that same area. That general area is the worst looking area in town from what I can see, maybe another area is actually tougher. I was on Broadway just a bunch of prostitutes junkies and drunks, and homeless. I have a little footage from there though. I was on Haddon and and it looks rough too an I recorded a little footage there too but this area looks by far the roughest. When I record i go through the footage and pick out what I think looks the worst, Tell me where I need to be then lol.
