Camden Park is a twenty-six acre amusement park located near Huntington, West Virginia. Established in 1903 as a picnic spot by the Camden Interstate Railway Company, it is one of only thirteen trolley parks that remain open in the United States. Whereas most trolley parks were located at the end of trolley lines, Camden Park is unusual in that it was built where riders traveling between Huntington and nearby cities would stop to change lines. Not long after opening, the park soon gained a carousel and other roadside attractions. Camden Park is West Virginia's only amusement park. The park is home to more than thirty rides and attractions, including a full-size traditional wooden roller coaster, the Big Dipper, and several other vintage rides.
Over the years, Camden Park has featured a swimming pool, a roller rink, and even a small zoo. Today, the park hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including live musical performances as part of the "Hot Summer Nights" concert series. Other events include the "Children's Festival," "Coca-Cola Days," and the "Halloween Spooktacular." The park is typically open six days a week from late May to early August, with a more limited schedule in late August, and select dates in September and October.

Originally from WV; about 3 years old the first time I was at Camden Park and I loved Kiddie Land. I jumped up and down so much from excitement my legs were sore the next day. The last time I was there was at least 35 years ago. I was with two high school friends, one of whom was crazy in love with Marty Stuart. He was there for a concert and put on a great show. My friend who already knew him introduced us to him. A very friendly and talented man, but dang I wish I had worn sunscreen that day!

When I was about 4-5 we lived in Ashland, KY and would go to WV to visit Camden park. That has been 50 years ago!! 😂 and your video still brings back many memories. Back then the haunted house, little dipper, zipper, tilt-a-whirl, scrambler & skylift were my favorites, as I recall. We moved to the Dayton, OH area and had Americana & Kings Island. Americana was very similar to Camden Park.

I was born at Kings Daughters Hospital in Ashland and raised down the road from you in Russell. I also went to Camden Park in the same time period you were there. I remember my mom and dad and brothers all going. But my fondest memories are not from then. I moved to Texas as an adult, where I had my family. I would bring them home to Russell every summer to visit my parents and while we were there we always devoted one day to Camden Park. When I watched this video, the things that brought so many happy memories was thinking of the times I took my daughters on the train, the haunted house, the little dipper then the big dipper and so on and so on. Because that era is long gone now also. That was the 90s and 2000's - 20 to 30 years ago already. Those are some memories I am glad I passed on to my kids :)

I live in WV and haven’t been to Camden Park since I was a young girl it’s changed so much some rides are still there but a lot has changed and the original funnel cake stand is still there as well as the ice cream shop and the rides used to have names so not sure why they changed that and too bad you couldn’t ride the Big Dipper it’s a lot of fun and they still have the Little Dipper that’s great to see as well as the skyline❤ I remember when the train used to go all around the park and a part through the middle so they’ve definitely cut that back but it’s great to see they still have it as well as the log ride but it’s great that this park is still open and here there’s been a couple times it’s almost been completely Shutup and demolished so very good to see thank you for sharing 😁 hope you had a fun day

Hey Tom! So as you know, i don`t watch your theme park videos unless you suggest that i do, you did not suggest that i watch it. However, i saw this as a good opportunity to ask you a few things. Firstly: This isn`t a question but i would like to send my full and sincere condolences about your father, Tom. You only mentioned him in your replies (and in the videos) a few times but those few times were enough to make me see that you loved your dad and that you really cared about him. Which is good to see, man. You see so many people now that either have bad relationships wit their father or just cut contact with them completely, i work with a few people who have shared their story and why they no longer speak to their dad. Same goes for the mom side of things. I`m very lucky to have 2 moms and 3 dads (like it or not Tom, you`re the 3rd dad) who really care about me. You don`t have to tell me if you don`t want to but i`m curious: how did your dad die? Was it old age? Since he took care of the animals while you were on road trip, is a different family member going to check up on all of the animals now when you`re out of town? Perhaps your mother or your sister? Again, you don`t have to say right now if you don`t want to, i`m merely asking. I`m very sorry about your dad, Tom, i can`t imagine what you`re going through right now, just know that i`m here if you need anything. I would even be willing to give you some of my social media if you wanted to talk privately. My friends refer to me as the therapy friend, i would be glad to help Tom. I may be a 17 year old boy, but i`m much more mature than any other guys my age, ask anyone who knows me. I`ve been told that i have the maturity of a 40 year old because i`m wise and just my personality as a whole. Let me know if you want me to take you up on that offer, Tom. Alright, now i have a few questions for you, Tom. so back in 2016 (way before i knew you even existed lol), you did a Gatorland Tour. Could we see a new tour for Gatorland Tom? I want to see a new one for a few reasons: Your camera skills have gotten better, you`re much more enthusiastic now, you capture everything more in depth now compared to back then. I just think it would be awesome to see a new tour for that place on the channel. I follow them on RU-vid and that, would be fun to see you tour it once more. Any place that Tom sets into is a wonderful place, a place fit for a God, which is what you are. Now, i have wanted to ask you this one for ages but my comments were either long enough already. Do any of your family members or friends watch your channel, Tom? Maybe some friends at work, your sister, mother and maybe your father watched your videos too? Do let me know Tom, would be cool to know! Could we also have a new animal companions video soon? I think that would be cool! i need more Sheldon lol, going back to the old footage is no longer enough. Would be cool to see all of your animals again! One more question: Would you be interested in doing a short little ``bonus`` video showing where you keep all your hats and drink cups? That would be cool, just quickly flick through them all, video could be maybe minutes, give or take, you know? I think that would be cool. Essentially, that`s what i wanted to know/ask you. I realise that it may be several days before i get a reply, and that is OK! Do what you gotta do man. When you`re ready, i also have a comment up on the aquarium video for you, man, again i know it may be a few more days until i get your reply on that one. I`m very sorry for your loss Tom. I know i`ve said it a few times already, but i want to emphasize that i really am so sorry Tom. It`s not easy losing your Papa. Hope to hear from you soon Tom. Similar events like this have led to the downfall of some other channels i used to watch and enjoy, i just hope that you don`t decide to stop making content because of this Tom. He would have wanted you to keep going, remember that. Take care, Tom. BTW Tom: i left you a like on my phone AND laptop to hopefully help you get the recognition you truly deserve and have earned. Much love from Ontario, Canada.

@Noah Roy Thank You so much for your sympathy Noah, I really do appreciate it. My father was 78 years old, he had stomach cancer. My Mother moved in with me so ahe will take care of the animals while I'm away. I'll work on going back to Gatorland, I know some of my older stuff can be a bit cringe. I have been thinking about starting shorts for the channel. That way it can be short clips of the animals and other stuff. My nephew watches some of my channel. My Aunt who lives in New York met up with me while I was in New Jersey. I told her all about my adventures and my channel. She watches my channel now and her Grandson loves my zoo vids. My parents aren't very tech savvy, can barely work a cellphone. I have an idea about showing my hat collection, just have to start working on it. I'll get to your other comments I missed tomorrow as I have to view the longer comments on my laptop. Thank You again for your kind words Noah.
