CAMELOT - "What Do the Simple Folk Do?" 

Yes! I expected Phillipa to be amazing, but Andrew Burlap is also wonderful as Arthur.

They are wonderful singers and the music is very good...but I miss the old story with magic and the sword in the stone.

I think you may have meant the oboe player lol. He was the one really getting into it and moving all around.

Recently, I've noticed a decline in the singing quality of national tours visiting my city compared to the early 2000s. I think that acting and dancing have improved though, so I suspect that musical theater programs may be emphasizing those aspects over singing in the past couple of decades as this new generation of actors take the stage. I admit that as a retired opera tenor with a masters in vocal performance, I may be a bit critical on other singers, but the disappointing singing I've heard from the leads on various national tours within in the last 5-6 years led my wife and me to stop our annual theater pass and only go to shows we really want to see even if the singing isn't that great.

And the orchestra nails it as well.

I have a lot of favorites, but you're right, this cast is good.
