I saw this tour. Rick James was the headline act, although he decided to go on before Cameo but waited until about midnight to do so. That meant that Cameo didn’t come on until around 2am but they rocked it and most people stayed. Never seen anything like it. That summer I saw Cameo twice, Rick James once, The Time twice, The Barcays once and a few others. Great touring season!
4:20 - Candy! So beautiful..I remember listening to this in the summer of 87'. I had a tape and I'd listen to it. I fell in love for the first time shortly thereafter. This songs takes me back to that special, magical era...I listen to this song and it's like I'm back there for a moment. I think a lot of the people in the audience were having a similar experience, remembering this song as representing a special time...
Cameo is all-time favorite band of time I enjoyed the song Candy so muchI had decided to name my son or daughter something from the group I wind up having a son I could name him candy so I named him cameo and I still play and enjoy the music right

This show was supposedly in 1997. Therefore, it was eleven(11) years after the album, "Word Up," with the song, "Candy," on it, was released. Its beautiful that, after that much time, Larry Blackmon, who is entertaing the audience, from 6:09, to 6:32, sound just like he did in 1986, in singing, "Candy."-God is good.
16 years old junior in high school my girlfriend was pregnant with my first kid and this was my favorite song my son's 32 years old today and he likes this song as well just as much as his dad
Cameo's "Candy" should be FUNK'S anthem!!! That song has always got me hyped. Larry Blackmon's vocals and that beat is unforgettable. I love it and always will!!! Great band with exceptionally great music!!!

If we want our music we have to be a voice with our dollars. We have to buy and listen. Tune only in to radio stations that play what we want to hear.
I taped this one and Summer Jam 98 when they first came on HBO. I let someone borrow them a few years ago and I never got them back. I guess this is the closest I will get to these legendary performances. Thank you very much for the post.
