Cameo performing "She's Strange" and "Single Life" (with a drum solo from Jonathan "Sugarfoot" Moffett at the end) at BB King Blues Club in NYC, 2-25-17.
Ditch the rose tinted specs and stop focusing solely on Larry’s weight, everyone ages differently, just sit back and enjoy the awesome groove these guys are blasting out! Brilliant!
💯. Correct . I'm 60 been listening to cameo 40 years bring it on this aimt the blues this that funk. Who else bringing us old timers the funk? I appreciate these guys. Keeping our time alive thank you
Most of the original members are in their late 50s-early 60s by now...and still putting it down. And that drum solo by Jonathan 'Sugarfoot' Moffett? Cold-blooded. Respect...
Larry Blackman and Cameo is one of the greatest. He could be in a wheelchair..hooked to oxygen and I would still love him. We must remember what they gave us years ago and respect them for their contribution to music. We all grow as seniors...
Johnson moffat is all right but if you wanna hear some real drumming you gotta check out my boy straight outta PG County Md, play for Usher Aaron Spears. So many drummers from the DMV, like Spyda, Kwick, Biggie, Lester, Nicki Gillespie, and list goes on. Google them.
Still playing the same old Cameo songs, Candy, She's Strange/Single Life. Come on Larry, don't ignore the most exciting songs in Cameo's catalog. Funk Funk, Rigor Mortis, Flirt, Post Mortem, Shake your pants, I could go on and on sigh...
What I would give to hear Cameo do this song, at this speed with Nate Dogg and Warren G. This is basically the style of them and Quik early on, smooth and deadly. Cameo is one of the greatest groups I'll ever hear.
Larry Blackmon with Cameo,Kieth David the Bishop on Greenleat,David Hinds, lead singer with reggae band Steel Pulse, and actor Tom Hanks from Forrest Gump, are all the same age,64.They were all born in 1956.
Jonathan moffett need to stay in the pocket with a lock on it I don't go out and unless it's an emergency. I'm drummer, I did stuff like 45 years ago, the bass player asked me where was I going with that I got a stupid look on my face. I concentrate on playing the groove staying in the pocket keeping time it come back in on the one. Every now and then, I throw in some nice fills and get back on the one very important. Never overplay because it will get noticed. I prefer Ricky Lawson who's now deceased RIP, is the best drummer that played drums for MJ.
It’s called taking care of yourself as you age. Diet change and working out. You can achieve what ever You want. But it takes a lot more of a effort as you age.
