Larry Blackmon is one of The Greatest and Very Best Frontmen of All Time. He is right up there with Ronald Isley, Maurice White and Philip Bailey, George Clinton, Lionel Richie,Frankie Beverly and James J.T. Taylor. No question about it man.

There was no other group that was as versatile as Cameo. They had that true soul, Urban Contemporary, R&B, Jazz, Funk, and some of the best love Ballard's ever created. On this track they show us how Socially Conscious Conscious they are. They are forever number 1 in my book
Ty Hunter hey! I would have to respectfully disagree with you on that point. I was born at the end of the 80's, so my view may not be as relevant as yours! I think EWF had some pretty powerful music and was ahead of their time back in the day. Honestly think they are still relevant now with all the chaos happening in the world now. I actually just "discovered" Cameo not long ago. When I was in college we used to play Neck all the time. I thought a rap group sang it. Then I took it upon myself to dig deeper and go on a hunt for the original artist. Low and behold, i found out it was Cameo! I was shocked and happy all at once. I was like "there's no way a rapper sang this! I like it too much." Lol I'm digressing now. Lol my parents listened to this type of music when I was a kid, so naturally I picked up their taste in music! I like Cameo, but I still think EWF is one of the greatest funk band of all time. What would really be awesome is if the two band did a collaboration! Lol
Ty Hunter I agree. The only other funk band that can come close to Cameo is Parliament and the slow jams put them over. But they were just as funky as Pfunk, especially when they were at their full complement at the beginning. Very Unsung.
you are spot on. Today's music is awful. Cameo are amazing. I can understand every word & there songs are just...mindblowing. Larry Blackmon's fashion sense pushed buttons but hey!!

Candy, She's Strange, Single Life and Back n Forth were all the Cameo songs I heard growing up. Never even knew this song existed. This song fits right in to how America 🇺🇸 truly is and has always been ✊🏿
In my humble opinion the most socially relevant song Cameo ever did. Lyrical content is undeniable truth. Music production is from the razor's edge on point. It hits and cuts from every angle.💯💣💥🔥👏👏✌️

Tupac sampled alot of their music I'm an 86 baby but I listen to alot these old school classics really had no choice uncles and grandfather were music masters blessed to grow up off this kind of music💯

I love cameo....I'm a drummer also I can't even say how much I watched and followed these guys. Stayed up late playing my drums in my mother's basement to every song....like summer school break if play from 11:00am -12:00pm at night sometime me and a good buddy he know who he is kk ;)

This was a great album released in 1988 I lost track of Cameo at this time but I was a big fan of the band when I was in high school back in the early 80s going to a few of there shows when they came to Charlotte N.C.....i know it was hard for soul bands to transition from the 70s funk to the 90s MUSIC industry....this is a song that makes you THINK....and that is always a good thing
When I think of all the great songs that Cameo has created, like Why Have I Lost You,Word Up, She's Strange, Hanging Downtown,Candy, Flirt,Single Life and Talking Out The Side Of Your Neck,Skin I'm In is arguably their most underrated song. This song is one of Cameo's very best songs and it does NOT get enough credit.
